Spare thoughts from the road.

Mobile, AL
I spent the day in Mobile, AL. I had a paint protecting film applied to the bumper of my car today. 3M Scotchguard Paint Protection Film

After that I stopped by Battleship Park and took a tour of the USS Alabama and USS Drum. Both vessels saw action during WWII, destroying several enemy ships each.

Mobile was hit hard by Hurricane Katrina last year. The entire park was damaged by flooding. Both vessels as well as the Naval aircraft on display were damaged. There is a restoration effort under way, but it remains to be seen how things will fare if another hurricane hits before the restorations are complete.

A Blackbird is on display, but due to damage to plane and the hanger it is stored in all you can see is the rear of the plane.

Just down the road were the remnants of some gas stations that didn't fare as well as the park.

Not much was left after the water and wind had their way.
