MOM'S LETTER OF INTENT

JUNE 15, 2004
RE: Abuse of Jason Buchanan,  V16601, Apalachee CI

TO ALL WHOM THIS MAY CONCERN:

My son sent sane & clear descriptions of the original incident of abuse & signed it as well.  He also sent separate letters describing the situation as events progressed.

The day I received Jason's last mail he was being interview by Investigator Harrison.  I got the feedback on that from Doug Nelson. I faxed those to Nelson & he was going to use them in talks with Jason.

Now all of a sudden Jason is deemed “insane”?  No, don't even try to go there!!  I don’t know if he’s been drugged or what is going on in there – but I intend to find out.  You are dealing with a mother's love here and I intend to pursue this with every fiber of my being.

I have been polite up to now, but as I see the standard department wall going up between me and my son, my fear is turning to rage. I am asking for a formal investigation and will FOIA all information from that investigation.

If my son comes to harm while he is incarcerated I will seek out every recourse available to me under the law.

If I cannot get satisfaction from the department, meaning a phone call and visit with my son so that I can see with my own eyes that he is okay;

If you cannot satisfy me that he will be kept safe as your mission statement suggests, I will get very public with this.  I will get lawyers and media and various organizations to help expose any damage done to my son in your prison and your neglect of my son's safety.  I will FOIA on all officers involved and give out the info for all to read.

All I am asking for at this point is to talk with my son as I requested in my email this morning, and to have a special visit arranged.

If nothing is wrong, someone there can authorize these things... It's been done plenty of times before.  If arrangements are not made, I can only assume something is terribly wrong and proceed from there.
