ˇBienvenidos! Welcome to my webpage.
Let me tell you all a little bit about myself. I was born in April '67 in Tampa, Florida. My Mother is from Villa Carolina, Puerto Rico and my Father was born in Charleston, SC but lived all over the world with my Grandparents, he was a Coast Guard Brat. I lived most all of my life in Tampa, about 26 years. It wasn't until my late teens that I grew more curious of my Puerto Rican roots. It is a culture so rich with history and beauty. The people are of all shades of the spectrum, the delicious cuisine feeds your soul, and the music will touch your heart and set your spirit free to dance.

I met my husband while on the job. It was as if God Himself had sent me an angel from above!

He was everything in a man that I ever hoped for and never dreamed I would ever find. It was like magic from the first day and we've been together ever since May 1992. I was a single mother of a daughter, Jessica, from a previous relationship, but that didn't seem to effect his feelings for me/us. Miguel asked my Father for my hand in marriage, something you don't see these days anymore. We were married as close to our 1st date anniversary as we could, in May 1993.

After a couple of years struggling with our small family, Miguel decided it was time for a change. He wanted a better life and opportunities for us and our kids, he also has a son, and as Step-children go I couldn't ask for a better Step-son. After much thought and soul searching, he decided to join the United States Navy in March 1995. We moved from Florida to Norfolk, Virginia in August 1995 where we lived for the next 4˝ years. About one month after moving here, Miguel had to leave for Europe on a six month deployment with the battle group during that mess in Bosnia. It was a long and difficult six months, but we fell more in love than ever. Being a Navy Wife has taught me so much, and I feel it's made me a better person.

The very night that he returned from the MED in Feb.1996, we conceived our son, and in December 1996, God gave our love a life in Miguel Jr.(Mickey) our beautiful baby boy. He was the missing link in our family chain and now we are complete! The happiness & well being of a Navy family is very important. I've created a page with our children in mind. My goal is to collect Kid-friendly links for this page. Be sure to visit NAVY KIDS. We were later stationed at NAS Key West, Florida from Jan 2000 to October 2002. Miguel's next duty station was be overseas in Diego Garcia for one year while the children and I move upstate to Tampa Bay, back home, in our new house. He returned to CONUS and was sttioned in Mayport, FL where he's been ever since. Now we focus on 2006 and our next change of orders.

Well, I guess that's the whole story in all it's gory details! Those of you who know me, know that I'm fun-loving and enjoy to cook, I like to think of myself as an amature gourmet! I like to paint ceramics at holiday time and give them as gifts. I try to be creative, but I'm not always successful..hahaha!! I've been working for thress school seasons for Martial Arts America TaeKwonDO University as an Afterschool conselor and assistant instructor. What began as 'just a job' has really become a part of our lives. Click HERE to learn more about the school

Recently, I've been diagnosed with a condition called Polycysitc Ovarian Syndrome [PCOS]. It is a disease that effects 6-10% of all women in this country and is often left undetected or misdiagnosed. There is no known cause and there is no cure, only life-long treatment. If you or someone you know has PCOS please seek help and information from a medical professional. There are many websites out there available for information and support, and PCOS.net is just one of them. Educate yourself, and others. Learning more and more about my condition and the struggles of others who are just like me has made it so much eaier for me to cope with all of lifes trials and tribulations. Sometimes people make the mistake of thinking that turning to others is a sign of weakness. I'm living proof in more ways than one that reaching out to others can be so helpful and fulfilling. I've discovered another very informative and supportive online group called The Association for Morbidly Obese. This group is loaded with diet info, search engines for physicians, BMI charts, clothes exchange and much much more.

Thanks for visiting my tiny corner of cyberspace and taking the time to get to know me. Take care friends and I'll be seeing you around. To find me online, look for my favorite chat rooms, Women-Lounge on Talk City, American-Politics on Star Chat, and womenlounge2 in Chat Universe. Que Dios te Bendiga, Ciao!!!
