What is the worth of a person? I mean, in a monetary sense. Does it decrease if the person is a murderer or a child molester? Does it increase if the person is a millionaire or a saint? What if the person is just normal all over and never effected the world in any way? Would he be worth more for not causing any damage or less for not causing any good? What if the person were ugly? Or beautiful? Or what if just nobody knew them at all?
How are we to decide a fair punishment for a crime when we can't even decide what the monetary value of a person is? If there was a set value there would be set consequences. Is there a way to measure a persons worth?
