Marquee Theater Jacksonville, FL
Once again my friends and i headed out to see the boys in concert. This time it was a 2 hour trip from Orlando to Jacksonville to see then with Adema at the Marquee Theater. We left early because we figured there would be a line to get the front. We were wrong. After stopping to eat and getting lost we finally got to the theater around 230ish and there was no one in line. We circled the place a lot tryin to find a parking spot. While we were doing that we saw Markku walkin. That was kinda cool.
So we finally find a spot and walk around checkin out the place. I look over near the buses only to find Markku and Doug shirtless (mmm) sun tanning. This is not something to see every day so I did get a little excited. We contiplated talking to them and finally we walked over to the boys. They were very nice and i asked Doug to get a pic. He agreed and me being so clumsy I knocked over his drink. I felt like an ass but i dont think he minded that much. My friend told me to buy him a new one so we did just that. He was excited lol NOT but it was nice gesture and i got repaid :)
So we leave and drive around because it felt like it was 110 degrees outside. We come back and we see Dan and Chris chilling outside. So we head over to them and ask them for a pic. They happily agreed. Dan explained how it is going to look like he is sleeping in the pic but it was just sunny and he couldn't see lol. And YES it does look like he is sleeping.
So now were like all right we're gonna leave them alone. We decided to walk to the park across the street and just chill for a while. Well, we walk over to the park only to see Doug sunbathing in the middle of the park. (yikes) He was with Markku and some chick, we think it was markku's GF they were a little touchy feely :). so we bounced outta there like rabbit. We tried to be slick but me and friends are unable to be slick.
So after that, we decided to hop in line. While we were in there we met some unfriendly people. But it was all good we just needed front row. Which we did get right between Doug and Dan. So it was cool. This rad band Trust Company opened up for them. While they were playin we spotted Dan watchin on the stairs. So they did a pretty decent set, and then they started settin up for Hooba.
The live show rocked as usual. They opened with Pieces and then went into Up and Gone. They did Earthstick and Stuck with out a voice from the Basketball Shorts albu, and they did just about every song from the album besides To be with you. I had some tall man resting him elbows on me the whole time so my friend set him straight. He tried being a smart ass, but he just found himself bein punched in the face. (Thanks Homie :)
Doug gave me some good stage love. We sang to each other and it an awesome show all together.While they were performin Marky from Adema was on the stairs and he looked hoooooot......Now being the nice guy he is, im assuming as repayment for the sprite, Doug gave me a whole bottle of water while he was onstage. Out of all the reaching hands he handed it to me. (Holllllla) Dan tried his hardest to give my friends his pics, but they ended up on the floor in front of the barricades. But at the end of the set my friend hopped over the barricade and got hers and i got one of the floor for my other friend.
We left the front row for Adema and then just decided we couldnt stay for Adema. While we left we went around back just to see if the guys were out there. And sure enough Chris Markku and Dan were out there. Dan gave us a wave as we pulled up so we got out to say hello. We told the guys how they kicked ass as usual and thanked Dan for the pics. We asked for a pic with Markku but he was being kinda weird. Chris was so nice and went inside the tour bus to get us a sharpie so Markku could sign the group pic of us and them from the last time we saw them. Dan thanked us for comming out and told us to have a safe trip home. The same with Chris and they were just all around kick ass guys again!
Looking forward to seeing to boys again SOON.
