SPOOKTACULAR FINALE

In November of 1996, during rumblings of a possible third movie, during the creation of Extreme Ghostbusters, Universal Studios closed the doors on one of their original and beloved shows, the Spooktacular.  I was fortunate to read about the closing on the original Ghostbusters Message Board, with just enough time to beg and plead with my parents to take me.  We took off on that fateful day, and made it time to catch the last few shows.  Now I can't exactly pin down the day, but I'm 99% sure it was November 9.  Now without further ado, I bring to you for the first time anywhere, information and pictures from the final GHOSTBUSTERS SPOOKTACULAR.

So it was on that day, the real Ghostbusters took their final bow onstage.  The shows that day weren't different, the format stayed the same, but the cast was really on top of everything.  The busters were on their marks, Louis was putting on his funniest shows, and the audience really got into it.

After the last show wrapped up, all of the available cast and crew made their way onto the stage.  The audience gave a standing ovation to the performers and technicians as they lined up across the foot of the Containment Unit.  Everyone waved to the cheering crowd, and smiled as they basked in their final Ghostbusters moment.  After a few minutes they all started to raise one another's hands, and bowed graciously to the audience who was still on their feet applauding the people who had brought the Ghostbusters attraction to life.

Once the applause died down the audience made their way outside and the cast made their final goodbyes to one another. Everyone was shaking hands, hugging, and taking one last look at everything in the Ecto Containment Room.
