Made a big mistake and was caught for a speeding ticket
This is where it all started on August 10th when Berkowitz was arrested outside his Yonkers apartment and volunteered his guilt immediately.
Berkowitz was given a huge sentence of 365 years in a state prision in New York.
The way that the investigation went was that two policemen of Yonkers went and talked to some people that knew David and discovered that he fit the description of "son of sam."
A man named Stan reported this and the policemen just ignored it. Soon enough Stan barged into the Omega Force team.
The two letters David wrote to the Carrs' and the Cassaras' led the police to consider David Berkowitz a prime suspect.
The police, for further investigation, put a survelance camara outside the home of David Berkowitz.
David had killed 6 people and wounded 8.
After the trial the tales of David "son of sam" Berkowitz began to emerge.
