THE CELLULAR SOCIETY

My Home Page

Greetings and welcome to my site! This is a site about something that we believe in very strongly. We believe that the world is messed up at the moment. War, famine, poverty and other types of death and mayhem. A solution to this problem is imminently necessary before it's too late and we're all finished. We believe we have a better way... A better society. So... What is it that we are proposing? We propose a 'cellular society'. This is the way we believe society should go. It is about creating a flatter system of power within society. It is about living in harmony with the world. Its about looking at every aspect of our selves as human beings and trying to make that better. Want to know more about this altenative society? Have a read of 'The world of ideas' below, then come on in!!

The world of ideas

Time to get serious. What is it we have been talking about for so long? what is this world that we profess a wish to live in? Is it a cellular world purely? Is it a world of responsibility or education? No, I think - although this is a personal view - that it is a world of ideas; not necessarily a visceral world but a world where ideas can arise from anywhere and be given a thought and a feel even if they are craaaazy!

Plato is the one to talk to about ideas; being as they were to him the most important things in reality. He thought the this world we are living in is a transigent one, a place in which things are mere shadows of ideas. We need to tie this into our normal thinking and strive to realise that we are not necessarily the be-all and end-all; in other words, there must be more to life than a serialisation of events and places and activities and stimulus; reacted and reacting to you as an object.

We need to take a more broad-minded view of reality (as a meta-set of ideas) and think of it not necessarily in terms of three spatial dimensions and one chronological, but in terms of emotion and complex emotional signals along with a host of other stimuli which are not of the 6 senses, reducing our filter on reality. We need to think about social systems and the way people as groups react to emotional sets and centres, and a variety of situations, along with all the classical mystical ways of communicating with god or whatever you wish to call a higher force.

Ways of thinking about ideas need to be explored and the way beliefs (see beliefs) need to be consulted to come to a clear conclusion about our way of looking at reality and how it is limited.

THE POINT?

So what is the point of all this? Why have we suddenly arisen out of the woodwork to add our names to the long list of those who have tried to change things. The answer is this:

THINGS CAN CHANGE.

The people throughout history who have tried to change things have had the right idea. The problem has been that people have been unwilling to change; to try the unknown; to test and challenge 'the way it is'. So, we hear you ask, what's different now?

Humans ARE changing now. We are changing ourselves and our world in ways that could previously not have been imagined. We are constantly standing on the threshold of change and indeed revolution. As we have seen, we are now basically able to physicaly shape ourselves to our own ends. Through the power of modern technology we are able to change almost everything in our physical world. And this power is increasing. Soon we will be able to shape almost any physical aspect of the aforementioned dimensions. We will, before long, reach the point where - by our actions (direct or indirect) - we can shape our physical universe.

But it clear that this is not enough. This is the point of what we are talking about. There is more to reality than those four basic dimensions. And surely, if we can influence them - why not the rest. This is why it is vital for us to understand how reality (as a meta-set of ideas) functions, and how we fit into that reality. For when we understand our place, the idea of a simple universe will become totally redundant.

This is why we talk about the 'world of ideas'. That does not mean that people go around going "ooh, i've got an idea. Lets wear jelly on our heads"! It describes a place where ideas shape the very reality in which we exist. The virtual worlds of computers, for example, could be used in a real way to control the actuality of life. Physical existence can become redundant for as long as desired. Sciences become just forces of the imagination. Anything could be achieved.

It is important to remember that all of this could co-exist with the 'normal' world. What we are saying is not that we should get rid of the way we live now, rather that we can augment it, fashion it and improve it through the medium of ideas and information.

The point is this: that now, more than ever, we as human beings stand at a crossroads in our history. We have it within our grasp to exist in a fashion far beyond our current means. We can enter an era in which we control our future (,past and present). But now is the time of descisions. At any crossroads a choice must be made. As things currently stand it may well soon be too late. We must grasp our existence - in all its forms, understand our potential and thereby take control of our future in a way that can benefit us all.
