Songs or Poems that make you think of Brian

(contributed by Canadagirl16)

Reba MacEntire sings this song called "If I had only known"........this song explains how I feel about losing Brian......how I am feeling and I'm sure how alot of his friends are feeling. Here are the lyrics:

If I had only known

If I had only known
It was the last walk in the rain
I'd keep you out for hours in the storm
I would hold your hand
Like a lifeline to my heart
Underneath the thunder we'd be warm
If I had only known
It was our last walk in the rain

If I had only known
I'd never hear your voice again
I'd memorize each thing you ever said
And on those lonely nights
I could think of them once more
Keep your words alive inside my head
If I had only know
I'd never hear your voice again

You were the treasure in my hand
You were the one who always stood beside me
So unaware I foolishly believed
That you would always be there
But then there came a day
And I turned my head and you slipped away

If I had only known
It was my last night by your side
I'd pray a miracle would stop the dawn And when you'd smile at me
I would look into your eyes
And make sure you knew my love
For you goes on and on
If I had only known
If I had only known
The love I would've shown
If I had only known

IF TOMORROW NEVER COMES
If I knew it would be the last time that
I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly and
pray the Lord, your soul to Keep,

If I knew it would be the last time that
I see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss
and call you back for one more.

If I knew it would be the last time
I'd hear your voice lifted up in
praise, I would video tape each action and word,
so I could play them back day after day.

If I knew it would be the last time,
I could spare an extra minute or
two to stop and say "I love you," instead of assuming,
you would KNOW I do.

If I knew it would be the last time
I would be there to share your day,
well I'm sure you'll have so many more,
so I can let just this one slip away.

For surely there's always tomorrow
to make up for an oversight, and we
always get a second chance to make everything right.

There will always be another
day to say our "I love you's",
And certainly there's another chance
to say our "Anything I can do's?"

But just in case I might be wrong,
and today is all I get, I'd like to say
how much I love you and
I hope we never forget,
Tomorrow is not promised
to anyone, young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance you get
to hold your loved one tight..

So if you're waiting for tomorrow,
why not do it today? For if
tomorrow never comes,
you'll surely regret the day,
That you didn't take that extra
time for a smile,
a hug,
or
a kiss
and you were too busy to grant someone,
what turned out to be their one last wish.

So hold your loved ones close today,
whisper in their ear, Tell them how
much you love them and that
you'll always hold them dear, Take time to
say "I'm sorry,"
"please forgive me,"
"thank you"
or
"it's okay".

And if tomorrow never comes,
you'll have no regrets about today.

"A friend is someone who knows the song in
your heart and can sing it
back to you when you have
forgotten the words."

When I Reach The Place I'm Goin' (Wynonna)

When I reach the place I'm goin'
I will surely know my way
And I will turn and look inside me
And bid farewell to one more day
Every light begins with darkness
Every flower is once a seed
And with the sun and wind to test us
We are bound to be released
I will fly beyond this valley
I will open up the gate
And when I reach the place I'm goin'
I will surely know my way
We have hands to hold our sorrow
We have tears to heal the pain
And though your eyes ask many questions
On your lips I hear my name
I was born without a whisper
I was born beneath the rain
But when I reach that place I'm goin'
I will surely know my way
I will surely know my way

Saying Goodbye

In memory of My best friend Sandra-1982; My grandfather - 1984
Dedicated to FloridaWontStop

When the stars are out at night.. as you are looking up above...
Always keep one thing in mind.. that you are very much loved.
Although they leave us suddenly.. they leave one thing behind..
All the memories that were shared.. they are truly one of a kind.
So when we go on with our lives.. the one thing that we should know...
We're only saying goodbye temporarily.. and only then, can we let go.

IM FREE

Dont grieve for me,
for now Im free,
Im following the path God laid for me,
I took his hand when I heard him call,
I turned my back, and left it all,
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work, or play,
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I found that peace at the close of day,
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembering joy,
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Oh yes, these are things I too will miss,
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
My lifes been full, I've savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch,
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Dont lengthen it now with undue grief,
Lift up your hearts and share with me,
God wanted me now, he set me free

this poem really makes me think of you Brian.....you are my guardian angel

"Watching Over Me"

I hear your voice in every whisper of the wind.
I remember your laugh at every riverbend.
You're with me when I'm fast asleep.
You know every secret I keep.
You're here when I'm awake.
You're there when I make a mistake.
You're here when I begin to hate.
But, you help me clean that slate.
You're the guardian who stands knoble on my shoulder.
You wrap me in your love when the world gets colder.
And as tears fall from the sky,
I try to be strong and not cry.
So, I look up at the clouds and I see your smile.
Then I know I can go that extra mile.
