Trickstyle Review

I'm going to make this a quickie. This was one of the first Dreamcast games we got to play here in the states. Still to this day it remains as one of the most visually impressive games of all time. The graphics on this thing are just incredible. You should at least rent it once just to see it. There are plenty of different racers and a ton of tracks. Some problems with the game are that you MUST stay ahead of everyone else in order to win a race. If you fall down you can pretty much forget getting first place. Also, mostly due to this problem, the game is incredibly hard. It took me longer to finish than most DC games to date. However, it is actually very fun and defintely challenging. The final track is fabulous. You have to finish it just so you can race it. Or just download the save file from the VMU saves section of SegaDCForce. The sound in the game is good too. From the music to the voices to the collisions it is all grade A. I enjoyed this game despite initial dissapointment. You may be set back at first as well but give this game a chance and I think you will be plesantly surprised in the long run. 8.5 out of 10 due to some control problems and also due to the fact that the cover and premise are misleading in that they imply that this game is related to skateboarding. It isn't. The experience is more Wipeout than Tony Hawk. Still a good game. -JS
