Ready 2 Rumble Boxing Review

I'm going to make this a short review due to the age of the game and due to the fact that it can quickly be summed up and.. well.. I'm just too tired right now to go into any detail. Here goes... This was a US DC launch game and when I first saw it my jaw dropped to the floor and my tounge unrolled like a party favor. This may be an old game but the graphics are awesome. The characters are brought to life with thousands of polygons, killer textures, real physics, real-time facial damage, stretchy skin, well animated expressions, and motion captured moves. When you hit the characters their head slings back and their eyes roll back in their heads and their mouth swings open revealing some missing teeth while spit and sweat go flying through the air. Each one has their own personality and style. Some are insane and some are just funny. Some of their openings will make you laugh out loud. The game is also announced by none other than mister 'ready to rumble' himself, Michael Buffer. The audio is also top notch. Voices, music, and collisions are all crisp and powerful. The music does tend to skip sometimes though, this happened on every disc I've tried. The fighting is balanced and realistic. The only problem seems to be that hte characters dont respond well to some commands fast enough. This can get to be a hassle sometimes but is easily overlooked. Once you have ahandle on theway the game plays you will be able to have fair fights with the cpu as well as your best friend. Overall this is a very cool game to experience. It definately has attitude and a sense of humor that all to many games have failed to create. I give it a 8 out of 10 because of the control issues but like I said, they are easily overcome and you will enjoy this game, even if you're like me and you don't like boxing at all. By the way, did I mention I wasn't going to go on and on about this game because I'm too tired? Whatever. -JS
