And violets, they're still blue
But hon you'll never guess

From my precious baby girl,
Wearing frillies and bows.
To the woman you've become
My love for you, it continues to grow.

You've always made me so proud,
And at times, made me cry.
But my love for you, my darling girl
It only strengthens, never dies.

No Mom that I know
Could ever hope to be
As proud and as happy
As you've always made me.

Now you've given birth
To your own precious two
And I know you're so proud
Just as I was of you.

But as the years pass by,
Oh my, how they've grown!
It seems like just yesterday
The time sure has flown

It won't be too long,
They'll have babes of their own
Then you'll say like me
Where has the time gone?

And maybe someday they'll have
Their own dear little girl
Who'll brighten our lives
And put joy in our world.

But, no matter what happens
Or what the future may bring
You've made me so happy,
And made my heart sing.

So, know that I'll love you
my own precious girl.
And know you've always been
A light in my world

I remember so clearly
May 9th, of 71
The day you were born,
my precious wee one.

What a wonderful Mothers Day
That turned out to be.
For that was the day,
God gave you to me!
