north american spellbook

see
it's not all dumb smiles
and near misses

often times
we must be serious

the looks i get to me
really get to me

-their defect-

after all
i left my pride at a roller rink in montana
and more recently
at a bowling alley up the road

often times
it is serious
and usually gets harder
to keep up with everyone

please playful times
don't let the clouds burn off just yet
please playful times are the tie
all dumb smiles

is this the miracle

i'm mixing with the air again

time to marry

reaching out have to reeling in

better if i just sloth this one

time to marry the words you play with

my cheatin' heart*

is that a burn on your tummy 1994
or a bitemark?

i feel people taking chunks
out of you to this day

why push so far into back days
in girlie all?
very unsettling
as were the times

after all
what am i in relation to you?
(nothing a month i can't give back)

this isn't longing stef
just so long as
i'm not the only one
praying in your direction

LOVE STORY START

HEY DAD
(I START LIKE THAT NOW INFORMAL)

I START CASTING SPELLS ON YOU COWBOY:
I NOT READY FOR YOU COLD DEATH
I NOT READY FOR YOU BLUE EYES

HOWEVER
I READY TO START LOVE STORY
MUCH READY

coral the girl

like i said
"the news was not good"

but hey
everyone's different & everyone's special
besides
no one ever filled me in on you

icouldhaveswornyouwerewrithingandscreamingaroundbeforewithus

but no
we lost you to used cars
and that's perfectly reasonable

but yet
i remember moving day
the brightest you in eyes and movement
all shaky feelings surely dispelled

but thanks
we'll all be more wary of blonde children
in the future
and so will michael
(whom we'll be keeping thanks)

take care
and good luck with the whole
white trash thing

love

reechard

alumni*

special needs solved
now onto greater tasks

far reaching friends
thank you
for (made up) prayers and release
we are religious
to unanswer the structure
to get fucked unsexually for ourselves

absent members are checkpoints
gained after lost
outside the city limits
but inside the regional quad
to offer some secret place
so that none will suspect

by the by
*life is good
cause you're in it*

at the moment
i am rapidly in letters
to get through to you

anyway daniel
the guild needs backup pens
and typing rooms
(something to search for ourselves)

how can you afford to be so generous?
it's what i do

okay boys
look onto your city
until we can all make it over that way.

for martha

we live again
like
when we begin

we live again
like
when we begin

we live again
like
when we begin

love story part one

dad drove a tractor in montana

one summer when he was seventeen the heel of his cowboy boot got caught on the back tire and instead of tearing his leg off it only broke it "clean" somehow he drove the tractor back to the house and someone took him to the doctor for the entire summer my father was in a full-leg cast it became so hot (not to mention they had no a/c) dad's leg became very itchy in the cast he used the handle of a flyswatter to scratch down in the cast a couple of weeks later shortly before the cast came off he scratched down too far and lost hold of the swatter unable to reach it the swatter stayed in the cast the day came for the cast to come off and the doctor used the saw to cut it off there was this cute blonde candystriper in the doctor's office that day who dad knew from high school he was horrified not only was he in his underwear in front of this girl and not only did his leg reek from the summer long sweat but this fly swatter comes tumbling out onto the floor

that's when the doctor said

the water in inches please

i am fairly in pieces together
for the driving time
all in the ocean

oh god
i know it's there

now on now on
like christmas day
all to prove one young lady wrong

whose idea was it anyway
to give me a car
to drive to the beach?

to prove the promenade i did promenade
for a girl in blonde eyes a girl in brunettes
promenade i did
and danced on top of the sand

i know how all of this started
and of course
yearly it has gotten way the fuck
out of hand

oh Hope you never existed outside of that short story
(i choose now to name you)
my best lesbian friend to tell me to carry on

these days it's shaking
and jumping in sleep
until the first day of everyday
and into the love of the future

my promemoria promenade at lifeguard station.
