THERE AT MOUNT CALVARY
Luke 23:26-49

I've never seen the face
of the one who died for me,

But I believe it happened,
There at Mount Calvary.

I did not know His mother
who loved Him tenderly,

But I believe she watched Him die,
There at Mount Calvary.

I never shook the hand
that was nailed to that dead tree,

But I believe they crucified Him,
There at Mount Calvary.

I never saw the anguish look
when He said, "I'm thirsty",

But I believe He said it
There at Mount Calvary.

I did not read the sign
above His head for all to see,

But I believe they placed one,
There at Mount Calvary.

I never heard the words,
"Why have You forsaken Me?'

But I believe He spoke them,
There at Mount Calvary.

I did not see the soldier pierce His side
where blood flowed free,

But I believe He shed His blood,
There at Mount Calvary.

He died a cruel death
so from sin we might be free,

And I believe they crucified Him,
There at Mount Calvary.

He arose to live forever,
with His Father He went to be,

No more will He have to suffer,
There at Mount Calvary.

A home He went to prepare
so we could live eternally,

And it was all made possible,
There at Mount Calvary.
