THE CORDLESS PHONE

THE CORDLESS PHONE

The telephone rings,

It's the middle of the night.

I sit up straight in bed,

What a horrible fright!

In complete and total darkness,

I fumble around for the phone.

"Who in the world could that be?"

I silently but angrily moan.

Where is it at?

It is too dark for me to see.

It is not in the charger,

Where it's suppose to be!

Oops, there goes my coke!

I didn't drink it all.

Now its on my homework,

And running down the wall.

Where is the dumb light switch?

Oh, great! Over there on the wall.

Ouch, what was that I kicked?

Help...I'm gonna fall!

Hurray, I finally made it!

Click, the light comes on.

I quickly scan the room,

Then spy the telephone.

"Hello! Hello!" I shout,

Awakening from my slumber.

Huh!  Are you absolutely sure?

You say you got the wrong number?
