Silent Plea of a Child

Mommy, can you hear me?

Daddy, please listen, too!

I want to tell you both something,

About me and each of you!

I love you both the same!

You mean all the world to me.

But I'm not made of rubber,

Just look and you will see!

There's too much hurt and anger!

The results will one day show!

For it will be inside me,

And seep out as I grow!

I'm not a secret weapon,

For you to use to fight your war!

It's me that you're hurting,

And destroying to the core!

Will this continue till I'm 18 years old?

Can't you just share me equally?

When I'm grown and your battle is over,

For me, I'll be scarred permanently!
