HOW WOULD HE?
HOW WOULD HE?
Dedicated to all the faithful mothers who realize the great responsibility placed on them in rearing their children.
If I'd have been JESUS' mother,
Would HE have turned out the same?
Or would HE have grown up to be,
A son I was ashamed to claim?
Would HE have been at twelve years old,
In the temple teaching the scribes?
Or would HE be found on the streets,
Hustling others and taking bribes?
Would you have found my son JESUS,
On the FATHER'S Holy Sabboth Day,
Out at the ball park playing,
Instead of at the temple to pray?
Would HE have fed all the hungry,
Like HE did on the mountain top?
Or would HE be there with HIS friends,
Cursing God and smoking pot?
Would He have been in the garden,
Prostrate and praying to GOD?
Or would HE be on the river bank,
With a cold beer and a fishing rod?
Would HE have known how to sing praises,
And lift up HIS voice to GOD in song?
Would I've taught HIM to grow up and know,
The difference between right and wrong?
I know I could have never been Mary,
Nor pure enough to bear GOD'S SON,
But I am so grateful HE sent HIM,
And told me how it should be done!
