CHAPTER 6
" Give me some time..."
(2 months later)
"I'm just curious, c'mon Lexx! What's this between you and Nick?" - Rima laid down the bed. She was wearing blue "CK" shirt and light blue jeans. She looked attentively at Alsie with her that sarcastic smile.
"Hey... That's nobody's business, but mine... - answered Alsie, smiling - And by the way, it's better for you to keep silence. I don't wanna anybody to be so attentive as you are!" - Alsie was packing her things in suitcase. She was wearing white "Polo" short shirt and black jeans.
"Well... Something's going on between you and Nick... Even a blind would notice it! And you make me feel myself like being not your best friend. You have secrets form me... That's not the way we used to be, Als. I'm very very offended!" - said Rima and turned out her curly black-haired head.
"Okay, okay I'll tell you... But promise me first to keep silence!" - Alsie surrendered.
"I swear, I'm a grave!" - Rima was glad to hear it.
" Well... Nick and me we are dating... Well... It's not dating... It's hard to explain... - Alsie smiled with a sad smile.Rima was staring at her with all her black asian eyes. - So... We just know we are in love with each other, but we don't tell it to each other, cause it's too quickly, too perfectly to be true, you know. We actually... okay... we are dating... goin' to some places when he's in Orlando... as usually. I think I can call so our relationships." - her speech was slurred.
"When did it begin? All of this?" - Rima was still staring at Alsie.
"Am... I believe 2 months ago... Remember that night when we had a trouble, cause of that walk to the park in Madrid?"
"Yep. Of course I do. Fatima was so angry, just like a tiger."
"Well... Actually... that night!"
"You wanna tell me you have been dating for 2 months already and don't tell to each other about your feelings?!"
"I think it's too early to talk about it. I must know him very well before I'll tell him about that."
"Oh... I see, you are stopping all the system! You are crazy... he just knows it and tries to be polite... That's why he doesn't tell you about his feelings!"
"I know it. And I'm grateful to him about that. But you know, I think I love him... But after that story with Mike... I need time..."
"One day he'll say to it and what will you do then?"
"I donno, maybe I'll say it back or maybe ask him to give me some more time! And by the way... How can he be sure that he loves me! It needs time!"
"You have been knowing each other for 2 years!? What are you talking about?"
"Well... But just 2 months ago we became a little bit more than friends!"
"But before that you were excellent friends. He knows you perfectly, just as the way you used to know him."
"I donno, Rima. I'm a little bit scared!"
"You're a little bit stupid. Besides, did you kiss him?"
"Well... Am... Yeah I did!"
"Oh... Gosh... It can't be true! At Last! - joked Rima and rolled her eyes! - This is my advice to you. When Nick returns from Sweden, you tell him about your feelings!"
"Am... I donno... I'll think about it, I promise!"
"GoD!... You are a nun, I swear!" - girls laughed.
" I'm gonna to ask her straight, Brian! - said Nick seriously. - I'm tired of all that stuff. It makes me crazy that time... I donno what's it what's between us. I just want to be sure that I'm not wasting my feelings at her. Sometimes she's so strange! Can you imagine, she's been being my girlfriend for 2 months and she never ever told me about her feelings!"
"And did you tell?" - asked Brian, eating a scone.
" Well neither did I - confessed Nick - But I'm gonna do it tonight."
The plane began to reduce it's altitude and Nick with Brian finished their conversation, made themselves comfortable in their seats and fastened seat belts.
"I hate planes" - said Nick. Brian burst out laughing.
They were sitting in a posh, royal restaurant that evening and just talked about Nick's trip and so on when suddenly Nick asked.
"Als... I... I just donno how to say it... But... Do you have certain feelings to me or it's just ordinary dating, kinda having fun or something?"
"Well... - Alsie lifted her eyes at him - I guess... I know that I have."
"So... Als... What's going on between us? I'm just tired of all of this. - Nick dropped his eyes and continued - You know we have the same relationships as we had when we were friends."
"Don't you like it?"
"No, I like it, but I want more!"
"Nick... I donno..what to..."
"Wait a minute, Alsie. Tell me, do you want me or you want me just to be your friend?"
"At this time I want your support, your friendship and your protection from all..." - she said quietly.
"And what about my love?" - Nick looked at her.
"I need it either, but later. Not now. I'm not ready to say the same to you."
"Why, Als. Are you scared of me?"
"No, of course... but..."
"Aleksandra, do you love me and do you wanna be with me?" - Nick asked her suddenly & straight.
" Nick, don't ask me now... I'm not ready!"
"But you've been known me for ages!"
"I supposed that today we'd have that conversation."
"Don't go away from the theme... Okay - Nick made a deep breathe - On your answer will depend our future together! Alsie, do you love me? I'm asking you once again and that's the last time I'm doing this."
For a minute she kept silence. It was so hurt for her once again to confess in her feelings. Nick was looking at her very attentively. He definitely didn't understand her.
"Yes. I think I love you Nick." - she said it very slowly and quietly. Nick felt like a big stone came down off his heart.
"Alsie, baby. What's the matter, then?"
"The main problem is that I'm not ready. My past still gives me a sign."
"What's wrong? Did somebody hurt you?"
"Actually, I can say so. That's why I'm not ready to repeat it once again."
"What's wrong? C'mon Als, tell me."
"It's... ... Mike."
"Something's wrong with that guy?"
"You know... I was in love with him... - Alsie hardly could speak, cause of the pain she still had inside. But she felt also the need of reveal all of it to Nick, to make him understand her - We dated for about 2 years, but then once I noticed him being out with another girl. When I asked him later he lied to me, he said it was his sister, while it wasn't. I believed him then. - she made a deep breathe and drank a little of water - Once he came to me and told that there'd be no more "us", he just went away... He just ... just broke my heart... - Nick noticed the tears in her eyes. He wished he could stop it, but he also needed the truth - Once in a while he came back again and said that he loved me... but I yelled at him and told him to get outta me. He did it. Also I said that I hated him, I didn't love him yet and so on... - the one tear dropped from her eyes to her lips... Nick's heart stopped. He was ready to tell her to stop, when she said - He had kinda motorbike... I donno the name of it... Well... after that... after me, I mean... he just ... just... got into autocatastrophe... Gosh." - Alsie cried.
Her tears were falling down like a rain. Nick came to her, hold her tight & said.
"Alsie... Sorry baby for that. You are tearing my heart into pieces, cause you know... then you are hurt, I'm hurting also... Because I Love You, Aleksandra. And I never want you to cry no more!"
She looked at him. She wasn't too much surprised, but it was the first time he said it. Nick looked at her too with all the tenderness he had inside.
"Nick, you... understand?"
"Yes, Alsie. I'm sorry for made you do that. But now I understand you totally, dear!"
"Nick, you know, I think I love you, but I'm not ready to trust... Just can't!"
"Yes. I know... and from that moment and on I'm gonna deserve your love!" - Nick smiled at her with all his loving heart.
"My congratulations! - said sarcastically Rima - You're lucky Nick's so understandable guy! So what are you gonna do?"
"I donno..." - said Alsie with shyness.
There were all "Todess" in her little apartment. Everybody had already knew about her & Nick.
"You're really so lucky... I wish I had Nick also... - smiled Lisa, trying not to show her feelings.
"Hey - laughed Alsie - But I know that, cause Nick's a miracle! - said Alsie with happy eyes - I'm so glad we haven't secrets from each other now..."
"What about his ex-?" - asked Nicky, eating the orange.
"I just know that there were one girl, who wasn't actually for him... He said he pretty much disappointed in her. She was kinda... Hmmm... stupid fool..." - that was Alsie's answer.
"Are you speaking about Franceska Gallagher?" - suddenly asked Monie.
"Who's it?" - stared at her Rima.
Lynise looked at her very angry. Then Monica understood that she'd said something she had to keep in secret. The rest of gals in "Todess" weren't from Orlando. Only she and Lanie were. And Alsie who had moved here 1 year ago. For example, Rima, Lisa and Mela were from LA. Amanda and Nicole were from Seattle. Of course they didn't know about Nick's ex- Franceska Gallagher.
"Well... Actually... Nobody..." - smiled at her Monie, trying to be very calm.
"I was speaking about some girl... Virginia... I believe... - said Alsie. She was surprised. Does Nick have any secrets from her? - And what about that Franceska?"
"Nothing much." - quickly said Monika.
"Hey... Speak!" - almost ordered Rima.
"You can speak now. - said Lanie angrily - You have told almost all stuff that didn't connect you!"
"Stop! Stop, girls. - said Alsie very quietly - Please, Monie... What's about that Franceska?"
Monika was ready to kill herself for her tongue. Everybody can keep secrets, but she...
"I... I just know that they were in love with each other - she decided to tell all the truth. At last it's not her fault that Nick didn't tell Als aboutta. Anyway, she'll know aboutta someday - Well, they are even goin' to marry!"
"What?" - it was a shock for Alsie. Nick wasn't totally honest with her. And she... She trusted him, she revealed all her secrets, all her heart to him.
"Yes. That's true... But suddenly they broke up! - continued Monika - Nick was too much time outta Orlando... and Franky just tired of that."
Everybody was shocked. Nobody could even think that Nick loved somebody sometimes before Alsie. Alsie was pale and felt herself lousy, like being used. "The history is ready to repeat again. The same triangle! - she thought - She, Boy & Girl!"
"And how did ya know all aboutta?" - asked Rima at last after the shocking condition.
Monika looked at Lanie. Lanie nodded & said.
"Tell all the truth, Monika!"
"Well... Franceska Gallagher... She... She's my best friend!"
"No!" - exclaimed Amy & Mela.
"Damn it!" - said Nicky & Lisa together.
Rima looked at Alsie with all her support in her eyes. Alsie just wanted to disappear at that moment.Yes she was in lie once again. She felt herself so much hurt like it was with Mike...
