Rachel stared into the
lake, the reflection she saw was not hers...
She began to scream, as she felt the platform she was on
tilt.
A few moments later she was holding onto the edge, while
half
of her kicked violently in the water. Whatever she had seen,
was now gone.
She let herself fall into the water, and started to swim
for shore.
The water was icy, she thought, as she made her way onto
the rocky shore. She sat watching the water. What was
out
there, she thought, as she threw a rock into the dark
water.
Stupidity or curiosity...or both.. brought her back out
to
where she stood before. What was there too loose, she
wondered? She stood looking, this time, at her own
reflection.
Pinching fingers to her nose, she stepped off the platform
and fell
under the water. The cold turned an odd soothing warm. She
looked around her, and realized she wasn't alone.
She let out a scream, and water filled her lungs. Panic
swept through her, the sky above her turned a hazy red. She
could feel the end was near. She could feel hands grabbing
at her from all direction.
She surrendered to the feeling... surrendered to an end.
