The Other Side Of The Mug

I sip,
I slurp,
I think.

I can't see the otherside
From here.
It tears you apart that
You have a little less
Control of my life.

The mug is big, I think,
As I take another sip.
I almost want to laugh,
But then I would begin
To choke on something
More than just coffee.

The restraints that you
Had on me,
The hands that wrapped
Around my wrists,
Are no longer binding
Me.
Your words no longer
travel to my ears.

I stare into the mug,
And take another sip.
I can't see the other side
Of the mug.
I can't see you anymore.
