Gently I lay on a soft feather pillow.
Grass lay beneath my feet.
I am thankful for my life.
I am thankful for being a survivor.
I have lost it all almost,
My feathered pillow is all that
Remains.
I sleep to dream.
My mother, she returns.
My father, he returns.
My sister, she doesn't
Cry anymore.
My happiness remains
Unshattered,
In a dream.
I hold the pillow tight,
Crying another night
Away.
I will wake in
The morning,
Being thankful I
Have survived.
