Puck sat on the porch of his new home. He's stay at Chesters
mansion. He stood
thinking about the body that lay in the upstairs bedroom, and shook
his head. He
had no idea what to do with it.
"Can you remember where the porthole is?" Rachel asked Dwayne, as he
took her
hand in his.
"In the field." Dwayne replied.
Rachel stared at him for a moment. "I didn't come in that way." What
if she is
not able to get back, she thought. She still had Anna's body.
Christopher walked towards the edge of the field, and into the woods.
He was
ready to leave this place. If it weren't over, It wouldn't be over in
this land.
He had no intentions of coming back.
"We gotta get out of here." Dwayne said, as he shook Puck's hand.
"You got it
all under control?" He asked, as Puck stood there with a look of
confusion on
his face.
"Yeah, I guess." Puck replied with a laugh.
Ferris stood in the door watching them. He always hated
good-byes.
"I hope I never see this place again." Shadow said, as she watched
Christopher
vanish from sight.
Ferris winced. He would miss them.
"Are you ready Jessica?" Rachel asked, as she watched the woman play
with the
child.
"Let's roll." Dwayne said, as he tugged at Rachel's hand.
----
Shadow went through the porthole screaming in glee as she went
through. Next,
Dwayne vanished as he tipped an invisible hat to Puck. Rachel stood
staring at
the porthole, afraid to go through. She touched her hand to it,and
felt a force
push her away from it. She held on to her hand, the push had shocked
her.
Jessica watched her with eyes wide, and backed away from the
porthole. "I have
to...I can't..." Jessica said, and then turned and ran away from the
porthole.
She ran into the woods, leaving Rachel bewildered.
"Jessica!!" Rachel said hoarsly. Tears filled her eyes, she couldn't
get
through. "Dwayne!!" She yelled, facing the porthole. She could feel
the force of
the porthole grow weaker, until it was gone.
-------
Dwayne stared at the sleeping figure on the bed, as the door to the
closet
slammed shut behind him.
"Rachel?" He asked, as he touched her foot.
"Oh hi!!" Sharlette said with a smile.
Dwayne turned away from her, and opened the closet door. Jessica's
close hung on
hangers. He felt the back of the closet, feeling cold plaster.
"Dwayne?" Sharlette said, as she laid a hand on his back. "Was it all
a dream?"
She asked.
He shook his head as Chester walked into the room.
"Oh." She said, as she put a hand to her face. She acted as if this
was the
first time she had seen him. "What did you get here?"
"I was sent to watch over you ma'am." Chester replied, catching her
subtle
hints.
Christopher stared at her, there was something different about
her.
"Are you ok?" Sharlette asked him.
"I...I don't know. Maybe I am just tired." He kissed his sister on
the cheek.
She held out a hand to Dwayne, and smiled. "Is everyone ok. Everyone
is staring
at me, as if they have seen a ghost." She said, with a short
laugh.
"It's nothing, we are all tired." He replied, as he took her hand and
kissed it.
She smiled, and looked into his eyes with her cold dark eyes....
