Sharlette lay in Rachel's bed drifting in and out of sleep. She
was angry. She
put a hand to her stomach. There was a child there. She new what
would hurt
Sargatanis the most. She would pull the ultimate revenge with
Chesters help.
Chester was her faithful follower until the end, she thought. She
opened her
eyes to see him sitting alseep in a chair across from her.
------
Christopher and Sargatanis stood face to face, just inches from each
other. The
only resemblance they had with each other was cold angry eyes.
Christopher stood
trembling out of anger.
Sargatanis stared into Christophers eyes, and could feel the hatred
brewing
inside the young man. He would rule greatly if he knew his true
powers,
Sargatanis thought. He started to laugh at the thought of a duel.
"How about a
duel? You wish to kill me, lets see you be a man and fight."
Sargatanis said,
and clapped his hands.
A guard appeared with two swords.
Christopher took one, and held it up to the light. It was beautiful.
It was
ashame that there would soon be blood smothering it, he thought.
Rachel turned to Christopher and smiled. It was the first voluntary
moment she
had made since Christopher had seen her. His heart lept into his
throat.
Sargatanis scowled at her, as he tapped his sword to Chris' shoulder.
"Are you
ready to play?" He asked, as he backed away. He smiled at
Christopher, as if
teasing him.
"Come on, I don't want to bloody my walls with your blood."
Sargatanis led Christopher outside, mud instantly covering their
shoes.
Sargatanis started to scream and run at Christopher, lifting his
sword as a
joust. Christopher tumbled away, mud caking his hair.
"Fuck You.." Christopher said as he kneeled in the mud.
"Whatever.."Sargatanis replied, and leaned on his sword. "Get
up."
"Fight fair." Christopher said, as he stood with sword in his hands.
The fencing
lessons were about to come in handy, he thought.
Swords clashed, sending sparks flying through the air. Christopher
smiled at the
shock on Sargatanis' face.
----
Rachel stood just in the doorway watching the two men duel.
-----
"Are we there yet?? Are we there yet??" Jessica says through fits of
laughter.
"I am going to kill her." Shadow yells, as she kicks her horse into a
gallop.
"Are we there yet?" Jessica yelled again, as she looked to the sky.
The rain
felt so good on her face.
"What the hell is that sound?" Puck yelled.
The sound of a howl filled the air.
Jessica's eyes glazed for a moment, and a warmth enveloped her. It
left almost
as quickly as it came. She kicked her horse into a run, leaving the
small group
behind her.
-----
Chris stood over the body. His own arm gashed deeply, bled profusly.
Rachel ran
over to him, putting pressure on his wound. She watched as
Christopher pushed
the sword deeper into the mans, now Bryce, heart. Death was certain
for Bryce,
but would it be for Sargatanis?
The howl subsided, as Rachel took Christopher's sword and chopped
Bryce's head
off. Her eyes filled with tears, as Christopher held her with his
good arm.
A childs cry could suddenly be heard a moment later. Christopher
watched as the
child crawled over to them. He stepped away from the boy, as he
reached out to
touch his shoe.
"As long as that child is still alive, he can return." Rachel said,
as she put
the blade of the sword to the throat of the baby.
Jessica screamed as she rode upon the scene. "What the fuck are you
doing!! "
She barely had stopped the horse, before she was on the ground. She
picked up
the baby. "Poor Sinata!!"
The others rode up to the scene moments later. Dwayne watched as
Jessica
mothered the baby. "Are you ok Rach, Christopher?" He asked, as he
pulled Rachel
to him and kissed her on the forehead.
"That was almost too easy." Christopher replied, as he let Puck look
at the
wound on his arm.
Puck stabbed at the body of Bryce, and then impailed the head on
Sargatanis'
sword. "It's not over." He looked around. He could feel it wasn't
over. Nothing
had changed.
"We have everyone, we can leave." Shadow said, as she watched Jessica
walk into
the mansion. "Well, almost everyone."
"I can't leave." Puck replied, sadly.
"It was just too easy." Christopher said again, as he held a hand on
his hurt
arm.
