RISE

  Death came disguised
As a gentleness, a softness
That could full the blackness
Of the soul that had been raped of completion
It took her into it
It found and touched her deep
With a touch of insanity trailing close behind
A light so perfect
Cloaked the evil that would destroy her
And take from her the final peace that was her own
Cutting and tearing with its smug consequences
Her heart was left to bleed.

He found her there then
Broken and withered as she began to die
And he lifted her into his heart letting the past be the past
And giving her the future.

Untrusting and unworthy
She attempts to outrun the pain she knows could follow
Yet her instincts cry
And then scream inside her
To run into the outstretched arms
And open her mind on the dark of the night.

And he begins to feel the effects of her inside of him
And she can feel him begin to want her even deeper
And she is no longer reluctant to let him draw from her strength.
Or share in her pain
For she can feel him now
And unknowingly, they merge into one.

The blackness blinds them totally
But they willingly fall deeper into it
Knowing their fate somehow lies together
What was real no longer applies;
They surpass all reality when combined.

And softly they find themselves in each other
The blackened waters lie ahead-welcomed
No less than a miracle formed when the touch of their minds
Brings the touch of their bodies.

And then there is only the touch of their lips
The deep caress of his tongue on hers
Healing her pain
Erasing the experience
To awaken a hunger so real now.

Encompassed by the ever growing power
Panic sets in, unworthy of its source
He attempts to find strength
Just as she tries to run
Yet their binding lies unaffected
Only denied acknowledgement.

So as they lay in the night
He can feel the newborn sensations arise in him
And wonders if she knows them, too.
And as he tries to escape into a black, dreamless sleep,
The closing of his eyelids only reveal her face.
And a small moan is all to betray the torture
His need for her body to be entwined with his at this moment.

She trembles in the darkness
As the thought reaches her
And she curls her body deeper into the covers
A tear is silently released
As she feels the ache begin to expand
She whimpers quietly
As she is forced to imagine the touch of his hands.

The need for affirmation
Now adds to the haunting of their souls
And the drama continues as they speak
Forcing themselves not to cry out in despair.
But both know that they are bonded inseparably
And for pure survival of one another,
Their love will thrive in the silent of the night
And wait for the moment it will rise
Into the brilliant hour of the dawn.
