ELECT

JOHN E. KING

FOR LEVY COUNTY COMMISSIONER, DISTRICT 2, IN 2002

TIME FOR A REAL CHANGE

THESE ARE SOME OF MY MAIN GOALS TO WORK FOR IF I AM ELECTED :

Charter Form means "HOME RULE", taxpayers have more control in the affairs of local government by writing into the Levy County charter, Statute's "laws" such as setting the compensation of the county commissioners instead of using state mandated salaries. .

Petition programs for local ordinance , recall of elected officials, are just some of the ways for citizens to be involved. Under the Non-Charter county government we now have, this is not possible.

Work to bring under control the waste in funds of the county government.

The citizens need and deserve a working agenda to be published in the papers of the county prior to meetings to inform all citizens of items to be brought up at the meeting so they can plan to attend if an issue is in their best interest.

The outcome of the last election was a breath of fresh air to those of us longing for political change in Levy County. The voters made it clear that they were weary of the ‘good ole boy’ politics which have characterized much of our recent history, and I am firmly convinced that the citizens of Levy County now stand at a political cross roads.

If you feel that the people of Levy County should be making the decisions which most directly affect their lives. If you feel that decisions for Levy County should be made by those who reside here, rather than the bureaucrats in Tallahassee then ‘Home Rule’ will take care of this problem.

If "YOU" are convinced that citizens should be in control of their own County Government rather than the way it has been for the past decade's, ‘Home Rule’ is the answer.

Let’s vote for ‘Charter County’ by electing a commissioner who will support ‘Home Rule’ government in Levy County.

Please vote to elect ---JOHN E. KING--
