Okay, this page is not to ban all auctions, just ones that are wrongful. See this is what happened...
Ticket brokers and other sellers re ripping people off on the auction site by selling tickets to various concert at extremely high prices. But what some and most people dont know is that certain states have laws against selling tickets to events in the state for above the ticket value. So, what Im suggesting you do is try and fight these people. I have been successful at getting now 13 diffrent auctions selling tickets taken off of Ebay for violating laws. If your unsure if your state has a law reguarding ticket sales, go to the link below and read. I copied it from Ebays safe harbour rules and saftey guidelines.
Also stay away from buying tickets from scalpers on the street! If you wanna take a chance like 400 people did in Chicago in May trying to get into a U2 concert. Youll learn there are ALOT of dishonest people out there that dont care.
Also for the last few months there have been people on Ebay and Yahoo! Auctions selling/auctioning off Pollyanna Dorough's Promo CD. The cd was used at diffrent Dorough Lupus Foundation events to raise money by being auctioned off. The person who must have gotten ahold of several copies of this cd is auctioning them off for his/her own profit, and NOT for money to donated to the DLF. The person has been told several times to stop auctioning off Pollyanna's cd by her intern, but yet the person still continues to not listen. So I have told Yahoo! Auctions about this and hopefully they will no longer continue to auction the cd off anymore.
If you see any such auctions like the ones above, please go to that auction site's selling policy and email the customer service and have them try and take the auction off. Mention that they (the seller) is auctioning off copyrighted material and has been told once to stop with the auctions. Mention stuff about statute of limitations and CD-R's, bootlegged material, and Promo Cd's that cant be sold on auction, and usually if they get your emal on time, the auction will be taken down.
