Nature's Neighborhood

When I am walking in the woods,
through one of Nature's neighborhoods,
I feel like I'm in touch with all
creation, and I hear the call
of everything that's gone before
and that which is yet in store.

All God's creatures, great and small,
they touch me and I feel them all.
The lowly ant, the soaring hawk,
speak to me with no need for talk.

All part of the same lifeline,
all part of the grand design.
Every one in it's own niche
playing out the role for which
they were determined in the plan
for everything, including Man

In the forest, there's a sense
of freedom, and there is no fence
restraining it. There are no bounds
on nature and the many sounds
of life in all it's myriad forms
They enrich me and it warms
my heart to know that this is where
we're closest , in that clean fresh air,
to the reason why we're here,
Suddenly, it's very clear
that we should just give thanks for life
even in those times of strife.

So when you're walking through the woods,
through one of nature's neighborhoods,
take time to be sure you see it all.
Open your heart and heed the call.

If you don't, then you'll have missed
one of the greatest pleasures on the list.

Unconditional Love

I know she loves me, there is no doubt
She's always sad when I go out
And there to greet me when I come home
I know she'll be there, she'll never roam

She sits with me in my favorite chair
And kisses my face while I stroke her hair
She hardly ever leaves my side
Her love for me she can not hide

And when it's time to go to bed
next to mine on the pillow she rests her head
She snuggles close,we fall asleep
I've never known a love so deep

Now if you think this isn't bad
I'll tell you why it's really sad
You only get this from your dog or cat
Why can't people be like that?

One heart
Beating on it's own
A heart that has known joy, ecstasy, sorrow and betrayal
A heart that longs for the one thing it has never known
Another heart that beats with the same rhythm
