SHEA BUTTER....THE WONDER BUTTER!

Shea butter is extracted from the pit of the sweet, pulpy fruit from the mangifolia tree that grows wild through out the arid regions of Central Africa. This tree grows to 15 m in height, giving forth abundant fruit with green, sweet, fleshy pulp high in ascorbic acid, almost four times the amount found in oranges. It also contains iron, vit. B, protien, and calcium.

Once the fruit is eaten, shea nuts are par-boiled, then sun dried for 3-5 days before they are baked to complete dehydranation, when they can then be stored for several years without spoilage. If shea butter is to be made the arduous work of hand extracting the creamy, rich solid oil is begun, taking many hours and even days. The butter has an amazing amount of healing properties and softening capacity.

HEALING PROPERTIES: Shea butter has an array of amazing healing properties stemming from its physical make up of vit. A, vit E, and cinnamic acid, just to name a few. Shea butter is antiinflammatory. It increases the healing of wounds and improves scars. It is used to heal eczema, burns, rashes, severly dry skin and to lessen the irritation of psoriasis. Several of our customers have told us that, "nothing healed up their severe eczema like shea butter other than the steroids the doctors prescribed".

SKIN PROTECTION: Damage from sun produces free radicals which in turn increases the rate at which skin ages and can even become cancerous. To avoid damage skin needs year round protection- especially with the decreased ozone layer. Shea butter contains natural UV sun protection. Daily usage of shea butter on the face and body drasticly reduces sun exposure- slowing down the rate of aging due to external factors, as well as acts as a natural mantle to protect against elements such as cigarette smoke, smog and chemical pollutants in the air.

SKIN MOISTURIZATION: Shea butter leaves skin supple and soft. It is quickly replacing cocoa butter for the use of stretch mark prevention. Shea butter is used by massage therapists and spas due to its greaseless after feel and effective softening results. In fact, the usage of shea butter to replace other oils is growing as more and more therapists discover shea butter. Shea butter is THE best for use on babies and children- replacing unneccessary harsh chemicals such as baby oils and baby lotions presently in use.
