We both froze in shock for the second time that day. It is my shame to admit that I did not think of what this might look like to one who had just happened upon the scene from the outside, until a second dragon moved behind the first copper dragon. The distinctive form of the Grand Councilor from clan Magma, Darkheat, loomed behind the adult Copper dragon, easily dwarfing him. I knew then that we had been set up, I could see it like a sick play, unrolling infront of my very eyes. Somehow "they" had tricked Lord Sutton into coming down here. Maybe they sent him a message requesting his presence in the name of Mykell, or maybe they simply overheard her request and decided on this. Whatever had happened the lack of guards should have been our first tip.

We were both too tired and fatigued to see clearly though, and so we had fallen for it. I was positive at that moment that incriminating evidence would be found in the guest chambers where we had rested these last few days. It was not until much later that I found out that I had been right regarding that. It seems that a packet of DragonsBane was found in the chambers only shortly after the attack on Mykell was found out.

Lord Sutton moved over to stand next to me, as if he was going to explain the entire thing to the Great Red Wyrm, who, doubtless, had some part to play in this entire escapade. Instead of talking though, Lord Sutton scooped me up in one of his paws and nearly tossed me onto his back. With a roar, he did the one thing that the Copper and Red dragon's had not expected. He charged them.

Jean Sutton planted his foreclaws on the head of the unfortunate Copper dragon, using him as a spring board to leap over the rest of the Copper's body. Laureine had to duck to avoid slamming her head against the stone ceiling above them. She had one moment to enjoy the startled look on Darkheat's face, before Jean slammed into him with his entire weight behind him. Now, a mature silver dragon moving as fast as it can, and charging builds up a lot of momentum behind it. Darkheat was a Great Wyrm, which meant he was almost double Jean's size. No matter how large he was though, Jean had aimed to slam into the Red's neck, and something was going to give.
There was a flurry of chaos, as silver and red jumbled together. Parts of the solid stone walls crumbled as a Great red wyrm roared in pain and humiliation and slashed out randomly. A lucky hit opened a rend down the right flank of the silver dragon, leaving drops of black blood laced with silver.

Even as the blow landed though, the silver squirmed free of the red entanglement and barreled down the hallway. Curious vassals, and alerted Custodian Guards were both slammed aside with equal abandon.
The alert was fast in spreading across the Council Aerie, but Jean was just a tad faster. He charged the started guards at what was supposed to be a ceremonial post at the Silver exit from the Council Aerie. Then, with a lunge, and a snap of his wings as they opened to catch the air, he was airborn. As rapidly as he could he headed north, directly towards a bank of clouds that were gathering. In the darkness of the night he rapidly lost himself to those who were chasing him, hiding in the clouds easily as Silver dragons may walk upon them as if on solid ground. It was in one of those moments of rest, while avoiding yet another search party that they spoke in hushed whispers.

"Lord Sutton, we were set up. They'll think you and I attacked and somehow hurt Mykell and killed her kindred!" Jean nodded his massive head, wincing as Laureine did her best to tend the long gash across his flank.

"I know. Our only chance is to go to Taltros and find out why her kindred wrote that in his hearts blood. I pray to Io we will find answers there."
