Blink your eyes
See the lies
Hear the innocents' cries
Bombed by a bigger power than they
Guilty they are not
Peasants living day to day
The war seems to stray
Day after day after day
People dying
Children crying over their lost parents
The bombs drop
The bullets zoom over head
Hundreds and thousands lay dead
In the streets, in the homes
In the fallen villages
The soldiers march around destroying
Town after town after town
Will this ever end?
Fought for mistaken reasons
Human beings self-destructing
Again and again and again
Push the button
Pull the trigger
They will
Day after day after day
Blink your eyes
Hear their muffled cries...
