Megan walked in with Kelly hot on her heels. "Oh good, you’re here!" "Yeah I’m here. And I hope that you don’t mind, but I brought Munchkin with me." "Nope no problem at all!" "Didn’t think so." "Well, he should be here pretty soon." "What’s his name again? I forgot and you didn’t really tell me much about him." "Well, his name is Nick and he is two years older then you are. He is REALLY tall, but that works out because so are you." "Well, you are just not being very helpful today, Randi!" "What ever do you mean?" Randi asked, jokingly. Megan just rolled her eyes and laughed. Her eyes then fell on Kelly. The little girl was standing by the door, but not so that if it opened she would be hit by it. As if on cue, the door opened. "Helwo." Kelly said to the person that opened the door. The door wasn't open all the way, so Megan couldn't tell who her younger sister was talking to. But judging from the laugh that she got, it had to be a guy. "Hello to you too." Nick said. ‘Wait a minute,’ he thought, ‘She looks like the little girl that Brian and I were making faces at yesterday’ Kelly began to laugh. ‘Yup, that’s her all right.’ "Kelly, who did you find?" a voice came from farther in the room. Nick opened the door the rest of the way. Megan found herself looking at an extremely tall, extremely blond guy. He looked very familiar, from where she was sitting. Her thoughts were interrupted by her little sister running over to her. Nick looked up towards the sound of the voice and saw a girl a few years younger then himself sitting at the conference table. She looked vaguely familiar. The two looked at each other for a minute and then were both interrupted in there trying to think of where they had seen each other before, by Randi clearing her throat. "Megan Smith may I introduce you to...." Before Randi could finish her sentence. Megan realized where she had seen this guy before. She saw him all the time on TV. It was Nick Carter. The same guy that used to walk her to her mom everyday after Pre-school. "Nick Carter?" Megan finished for her agent. "Oh my god." She said under her breath. It was then that a look of realization came over Nick’s face. "Wait a second. Megan Smith? Hold on a second. I know that name!" Then Nick pieced together who it was. "You were 5...." "You were 7...." Megan added. "HAPPY CREEK PRE-SCHOOL!!!" They both exclaimed at the same time, then exploded into peels of laughter, leaving a very confused Randi to ponder what had just happened. "Wait a second! You two know each other?" "Yeah, we went to pre-school together." "Ummmm OK. Megs, why didn’t you tell me that you knew him?" "Maybe because you didn’t tell me that it was him. All you told was that his name was Nick, he was a few years older then me, and that he was tall. You didn’t tell me he was a Backstreet Boy!" Nick laughed. "You knew that I was a Backstreet Boy?" "Yeah, your mom and my mom kept in touch for a little while and when you signed onto Jive. Jane told my mom. My mom told me. But I think that after that they lost touch because of you schedule and all that stuff." "That’s cool. Well, we should probably get this show on the road. But first, who may I ask is this little angel?" "That is Kelly. She is my little sister. She is three." Nick bent down so that he was at Kelly’s level. "Hello, little one. How are you? I’m Nick." "Hi, Nicky!!!" She threw her arms around him and gave him a hug. He laughed and hugged the little girl back. Having done that, he stood back up and made his way over to the other side of the table, so that he was facing Megan. Randi sat down at the head of the table, and while Kelly play with some toys that Megan had brought, the three of them discussed the shedule for the day. ******************************************************* Nick and Megan sat around the table together going over the directions that Randi had handed them. Megan had never heard of the song they were going to be shooting a video for. She was familiar with most of their music, but not this one. "Um...Nick? What is this song about?" Megan asked with confusion in her voice. "Well, it's called "I Need You Tonight." It's a ballad that I've been singing during the solo segments of our shows. Each of us, meaning me and the guys, were all going to be shooting a video for our solo's." "Oh, ok! But, you still didn't answer my question." Megan said as she glanced over at Kelly to make sure she was all right. "What is the song about?" "Sorry! It's about loving someone, and needing them. Basically, telling giving off the message that 'I'll always be there', and 'say what's on your mind.' It's kind of hard for me to explain with out you hearing it first." Randi had left the room they were all in. He wanted to meet with the director and make sure everything was set for the video shoot. Nick decided this was the perfect time to catch up with Megan. "So, Megs? Can I call you that?" "Of course! You can call me 'butt head' if you want. But, I'd prefer you didn't." She said while laughing. "What has been up with you? I mean, it's been a long time since we've seen each other. I mean, I was only 7! How is your mom and you dad?" "Well, I've been pretty busy lately with modeling. You probably remember me as the little girl who would play in the mud, right?" Nick laughed and nodded his head. "Yeah, well, a few months at a modeling school can break those bad habits. I just turned 17 about 3 weeks ago. My mom's doing great, in fact, she is here at the Ritz hotel with me. My father died last year...cancer." Megan said, her voice beginning to crack. "Oh wow! I had no idea. I'm real sorry, Megan. Yeah, I would love to see your mother again. It's been too long. How long are you in L.A. for?" "I think were here for about a week. Then we'll be heading back over to James Town. Then I'll be coming down to Florida for a few weeks." "Really? Florida? What part of Florida?" Nick asked. "I think Orlando. Randi wants my me and my mom to relocate." "All the guys live in Orlando! I'll have to introduce them to you." Nick said. Megan walked over to Kelly, picked her up and placed her on her lap. Nick played with Kelly's bare toes that were sticking out from her tiny sandals. She giggled and laughed. "You like that, Kelly! Nick's funny, huh?" Megan said while kissing Kelly on the head. "Yesh...Meg's a butthead." Kelly spit out. Nick's eyes grew big and he began to laugh. Megan also began to laugh. Both of them didn't realize Kelly had heard their conversations. "Oh, Kelly! You better not say that in front of mommy!" "No...no say to mommy! You, no worry." "She's pretty smart! Adorable too." Nick said. "Yeah, she's almost too smart! She is a cutie, isn't she?" "Dats, right! Evwee one tinks I am cutie." Nick and Megan were once again entertained by Kelly's remarks. Randi walked in during the laughter and looked confused. "Did I miss something?" She said. Megan stood up and held Kelly on her hip. Nick grabbed the baby bag that was lying on the floor. As Megan walked through the door, Kelly waved at Randi. "Megs a butthead...and I a cutie." Kelly repeated. Nick shook his head at Randi and she just shrugged her shoulder's. They all walked out into the studio. It was decorated like a living room. There was a fireplace, a large leather couch, and wool blankets lying around. Megan figured it must be taking place in the winter. "Nick, why don't you head over to your dressing room. And Megan, this is yours. Your outfits are labeled 'act 1', and all the way up to 'act 4'. We'll be filming act 1 first." Randi said. "Really? Because I usually thought we started with 4." Megan said sarcastically and smiled at Nick. Nick just laughed. She had almost the same personality as him. He walked over to his dressing room and Megan walked into hers.
