-Present-
“Seven years of no calls or letters. I stopped trying to call him after he never called back. I couldn’t believe I was falling for him!” I said to my best friend Megan. After he left, I heard nothing for years. I would keep calling him everyday but they always told me to leave a message, and I did. He would never call back. Until I heard about them touring the US to promote their second album. It turned out that they did make it big. Just not in the US. We got tickets to see them anyway. We were sitting in the third row center. That’s when I think he saw me. Meg says he kept staring at me the whole concert but I doubt it.
We were going to France. It all started when my best friends Meg, Sarah, Ashley, Erin, and me, Catie, wanted to go to France for part of the summer. When we decided to go to France we started to scrounge up all the money and started saving every single penny until we could get enough. This was hard for Meg and me cause we love to shop. All we do on weekends is shop, shop, shop, and more shop. We practically live at the mall. This would be a reward from our many hard working years in collage.
Since there was a Backstreet Boys concert while we were in France, Megan decided to get us tickets. Megan is overly obsessed about Nick. Sarah is a total Kevin fan. Erin and Ashley are Howie and AJ fans. Well, Meg called everyone she knew that could somehow get us tickets. As usual, she came through and got is front row center tickets. That wasn’t it though. She got us VIP passes! This means we could see them for about thirty minutes. Ashley, Sarah, Erin and me almost passed out. I couldn’t believe it because I would actually get to see him again! At least I thought it would be nice, but what if I start falling for him again?
-Day One in France-
We were in the lobby of the hotel. It was breathtaking! There was a grand staircase from the entrance to go to the lobby. We decided to check in.
"We have reservations under the name Catie Lucas.” I said to the clerk.
“Um, Catie? Look at those guys over there. I think they’re starting at us.” Meg tells me. "Do I look OK?"
“Ssshhhh! Can’t you see I’m busy?” I told her. I looked at them. They were indeed staring at us. There were five of them. They were all wearing hats and sunglasses. I had an eerie feeling about them.
“Sign here please.” The clerk said to me.
“Oh, yeah.” I said snapping out of my trance. Soon we got our keys and we were on our way.
“Okay, the clerk said to take the second elevator on your left, and our room is 352.” I told everyone.
“Okay lead the way oh fearless leader,” Ashley said jokingly.
“Okay, then as me as your fearless leader, then drop and give me fifty,” I said laughing. A couple minutes, and a few pushups, later, we finally made it to our rooms. After many minutes of bickering, we finally decided who goes with whom. Meg and me would go in one room and Ashley, Sarah, and would Erin would go in the other.
Once we were all settled we decided to sleep. It was already nine and with time change, it would be even later.
-In the Backstreet Boys' room-
“Did you see those girls in the lobby today Bri?” asked Nick.
“Yeah, I could have sworn that one of them was Catie,” said Brian.
“Who’s Catie?” asked AJ and Howie.
“Oh, boy! Catie was Brian’s best friend since he was six. But B-rok over here didn’t have enough courage to ask her out!” Kevin explained.
“Oh!” AJ and Howie said.
“I could have sworn that that was her. The last time I saw her was, I think, our homecoming concert in Orlando.” Brian said to himself.
“We should get to sleep guys you know how Fatima is in the morning when we’re late for practice.” Kevin said.
“Wait! Just one more game of Mariokart!” Nick pleaded.
“NICK! No put it away!” Kevin said sternly. Nick sulked.
