Orlando Xena Convention May 27, 2000
Saturday May 27, 2000

Before I begin, let me fill you all in on the lovely drive up... We left the house on Friday at aroud 5:30, and about a half hour later we ran into a huge traffic jam (fuuuun). It took us like an hour to get through that... Then we had smooth driving the rest of the way, but the first rest stop that we stopped at was PACKED. But we got to the hotel and everything was cool. Ooook now on to the convention...
My Mom and I arrived at the convention at around 12:00 (an hour before it started). We got our little gold circle stickers and began to look around. First we stood on a line for me to get a t-shirt. The shirt I got has Xena and Gabrielle and the 5th season chakram. It's cooooooool. Then we went into another room where they had TONS of 8x10 photos. We picked out a few to get autographed and then I knew that I would have to come back to get about 4 more. Hehe. After getting through that it was about time to go into the room where all the stuff was going to be showed. So mom and I went in and got our seats and all that stuff. The first thing on the schedule was a music video for Callisto. It was cooool. (Ack! It's weird that she's an angel now) Then we saw a video welcome from Lucy Lawless and Renee O'Connor. After that was the top 10 all time favorite Gabrielle moments. I had to spend the time explaining everything to my mom cause as she said (and these are her words) "I'm just the transportation". I tried to educate her in Xena. I really did... After the Gabrielle moments was the trivia contest...wow. Then there was a Gabrielle music video. Then came the Xena blooper reels. They were from the 4th season. They were pretty funny...LOL. Then there was a music video for Alti. And then...*drumroll*...Claire Stansfield herself! Yay! My mom got good pictures. Poor Claire...she must have gone blind from all of the camera flashes. Anyway... She gave a VERY interesting talk. It ranged from Alti to acting and even calling the (horrible) Olsen twins the Olsen trolls. By that time I was laughing so hard and thinking about what my little sister would say if she heard what Claire said. LOL. But really, Claire was a great speaker, and I enjoyed listening to her. After Claire spoke we had intermission. I had a tough time thinking about which Xena fanclub kit I would buy. That was a little random detail. Then we went back in and saw a music video salute to the end of Hercules. It was really nice. Too bad Herc ended...I liked that show a lot. Then we watched Herc blooper reels. The funniest one was when Kevin Sorbo was singing "There's no business liked show business..." (a very funny inside joke for me). Then there was a Xena music video and then an auction. I didn't get anything at the auction cause a lot of the stuff went for HIGH prices...eep! Next was a music video for Joxer. It was very good. And then...*second drumroll*...Ted Raimi! He was hilarious! He came out and did this whole act of tripping over a chair... Again mom got good pictures. His talk was very funny. Of course he sang the Joxer song (and had everyone singing along with him). And then we got the great news that Joxer will be back on the show. Yaaaaaay! After his talk it was time for autographs. So we waited... and waited. And then it was our turn in line. My mom said that I was blabbering endlessly... hey I was excited! I got Ted's autograph first. He was very nice. I told him everything that my little sister wanted me to tell him. He personalized the autographs... MAN he really personalized them. LOL. Then I got Claire's autograph. The first thing she said to my mom was, "Don't I know you from somewhere?" Too bad she didn't. She signed an autograph for me to give to my sister, and commented on how pretty my sister's name was (it's Allison). She was happy to hear that my mom lets Allison watch the show. Then I told Claire how I couldn't believe that it was her who was a monster on X-Files (she was in the season 1 episode, The Jersey Devil). She laughed and commented on how she was the B*tch...and the monster. Then she complimented me on the mehndi on my hands (I was so happy that she noticed). ^_^ After that we waited around a bit longer so I could get a picture with Ted. It came out really good too! Then we left and went to dinner at The Cracker Barrel...yum! After that we went back to the hotel and my mom went to sleep...and I stayed up until 4 in the morning watching T.V.
