March 24...
Ahem...a quote from "Annie" to start off with..."NYC..what is it about you? You're big...you're loud...you're tough." Hehe. I've been to New York plenty of times, but it's always exciting! Anyway... I got up this morning at 4:45 a.m. (too early!) We got to the airport at around 6:00. I met up with my group, we checked our bags, etc. It was really weird because a few months ago this trip seemed so far away. We got on the plane, and went to Cincinnati, Ohio (please don't ask me why we had a layover there). The people there had Southern accents. I got a hotdog and they were like "One dawg!" Then there was a guy who asked where we were going. We said New York. He asked where we were from. We said Florida. Then he looked all confused. LOL. So we got on the plane to New York. The plane rides weren't that bad. No turbulance or anything. I listened to my CD player the whole time...(if you are wondering I was listening to Tal Bachman...my "artist of the month"). We finally got to New York and got on the bus that would take us to the hotel. The bus was hot. There was no air conditioning or anything. We were all sweating by the time we got to the hotel. We checked in and went to our rooms for like 2 seconds (I stayed in a room with my friends: Marah and Ana). We had to get downstairs to rehearsal so instead of taking the elevator, we ran down 26 flights of stairs (I knew I did soccer for a reason). Let's just say that rehearsal was crazy. And getting back to our rooms was even worse. All of the choirs that were performing were staying in the same hotel. So getting on the elevator was stressful hehe. We ate at a pizza place and then it was time to go to a broadway show. We all got on the subway (which was kinda funny since we had 26 people). Destinantion: Times Square. Times Square is sooooo cool. It's so bright and alive. There was a guy playing bagpipes on the sidewalk. There was another guy who had a HUGE snake around him. I love it. The show we saw was "Annie Get Your Gun" starring none other than Bernadette Peters. She is amazing. The show was amazing too. One day...I want to play the part of Annie Oakley. I can do a Southern accent! So now my two dream roles (in a play) are Peter Pan and Annie Oakley. We finally got back to the hotel at 12:00 a.m. (after almost getting lost). And we finally went to bed at 1:00. That was it for that day. ^_^
