| Blooming Season | Plants in cultivation flower mostly from February to May (December to February in Brazil). Other clones may flower in any month, most in May. |
| Flower size and shape | The sepals and petals are 2.5-8 cm long and 4-8 mm wide. Lip is straight across the top when spread flat and has a long, tapered blade coming to a definite point. Its measures 11-28 mm wide and 20-40 mm long. Usually 4-6 flowers produce per stalk. Another wonderful night fragrant flowers. |
| Colors and fragrance | The sepals and petals are green, lip is white. |
| Comments | This species is variable in flowering time, number of flowers, flower size, and amount of fringing on the lip. |
B. amazonica (Brazil) - The flower is waxy green with little hint
of reddish. The lip is white with green center, with no fringe
on the lip. I only get one flower per spike on this plant.
B. martiana (labeled, Brazil) - The plant produces relatively
large flower for its size. The shape of the flower matched the
other B. martinana from Venezuela that I have seen before, the
only difference is my clone does not have the fringe on the lip.
I also get only one flower per spike.
