Time Slip Tables

Ok, here it is. I finally got off my ass and put together my time slip table. I have the tables separated by date with a brief description of the mods on the car at that time. Entries in red are the best for that trip to the strip, and entries in green are best overall.

Overall best to date: 14.070 @ 100.35 MPH

Oh, and just to reiterate, I have everything in my car still, stereo and all. I have done absolutely zero weight reduction. In fact I've probably added over a 100 lbs.  In fact I just weighed it, (11/30/00) with me and 1/4 tank of gas, it weighs in a 3,160 lbs.

As of 19 August, I added a column at the end to reflect which car actually WON the race. Everyone knows that on the street the seconds don't count. Its who reacts fastest and gets to the next light, or the finish line first.  I have managed to beat some powerful cars cause they don't know how to drive and I wanted to show that.  The column will reflect the margin of victory of the winning car. The losers column will be blank.

This was my first trip out. It was Dec 8th, 1999. The car was bone stock. Even had the factory tires still on it.

Ok, this is my second trip.  Made on Dec 15th, 1999, My Mom's B-day (sorry mom) Lucky for me Dad was taking her to dinner anyway. This time I have a set of new tires (shitty Futura GTZ) and a conical filter. Not sure if it was the crappy ass tires or my crappy ass driving, but my times went down here.

My third trip out was my B-Day, 7 April 2000.  As a B-day gift my dad came out in his 35th Anniversary Edition Mustang GT to spank my import loving ass. Wouldn't you know it, this is my worst night yet. At least my reaction times are getting better. Lucky for me I work well under pressure and pulled my best run for the night against my Dad! (Whew!!) As you can see he was quite a bit faster. I caught him sleeping at the light and that let me beat him to finish.  No new mods since last time, we did discover that if you come earlier you get a lot more runs. I also started trying to keep track of the cars I was racing so that you might get a feel for your competitors. So I have added additional rows for my competitors in White.

Now I have done some modifications. We hit the strip on the 6th of May, 2000.  This time I have added an Injen turbo inlet pipe, RRE upper intercooler pipe w/1st gen BOV and I performed the all important Wastegate solenoid modification. This put my boost pressure up to 14psi, a little lower than what I expected but yielded phenomenal changes.  I cut almost an entire half second off my times. I don't know exactly but rumor has it that it takes more than 35 more HP to do that. That's pretty good for the minor changes I made.   No, I didn't mess up the table either, the timeslip machine was broken so I only got my half on my last run, so I don't know what my lane mate did.

Well, since that trip I have cut out the plastic behind the intercooler for better airflow, I installed a make-shift ram air setup to get cold air to the intake filter and. . . . . . .the almighty RRE 3" down pipe and 3" Apexi RS exhaust system. God it sounds cool.  Seems to spool much faster and hold higher boost (about 16psi) and I got some new tread.  I now have Nitto NT450's all around. Didn't do as well as I hoped, but I suspect there were more problems behind the wheel then under the hood. I can't seem to get my 60 foot time down. The celica if you haven't figured it out yet is Amy's. Its being driven by Alcatraz and he was having a bad night. He gave up racing me to lose to a GIRL (no offense ladies, it just gets him riled up) driving a stock celica. (Just teasin Alc). Anyway here are the results for June 21, 2000. Seems to be really rich, maybe leaning out some will help.

Ok, this trip was taken on the 12 of August. The air is a little (a lot) warmer out so heat soak may have something to do with this.  The only addition to the car I have made since last time was an Apexi Super AFC. I leaned it out a little but didn't want to futz with it to much without a good oxygen sensor voltage and EGT gauge.(I only bought it without those gauges cause I got a good deal on it)  The display has been showing zero airflow. I don't think this is normal, but I double checked my connections and they were all ok, not to mention that the car still runs fine. Anyway, here are the times.

This time was just a quick trip to burn some time while I was going to meet a friend of mine in O town. I only got to make two runs, it was pretty crowded, probably due to the fact that school starts up again next week. Here are the results for the 17th of August.  I met this girl there with a brand new 2000 eclipse GT with the temp tags still on it. Jen, if by some strange coincidence you see this...email me!!!! I want to know how you did.

Well, after my poor baby being down for several months due to a blown head gasket and severely warped head, I finally made it back to the drag strip. It's the 30th of November.  I have since added an unorthodox racing underdrive pulley and a Turbo XS manual boost controller. I put in 4 gallons of 110 octane with my fuel light on, and set the boost for 15lbs. We ran 1/8 miles again due to the piss poor weather here in "sunny" Florida. Managed to squeeze in one full 1/4 at the end of the night.

So on the 8th of December, we returned to Bithlow exactly one year later to celebrate the birth of the Space Coast Sports Car Club. We invited some of our DSM brethren from DSM Brevard to join us. It was a little cooler than it had been the past few days. No changes since last time, but there were qualifications going on for NHRA so we didn't get in but 3 runs. I ran once in my girls Lexus IS 300. Sweet ride, not as fast as I hoped, but next year is the supercharger...mwahaha!!! Anyway, here are the results for the night.

Alrighty, here we are again at the track for the last run of the year. December 20th. I have installed a Blitz Stainless Steel filter and the RRE additional upper IC pipe. It's a pretty cold night out. In the 40's and 50's I think. Again I put in some 110 octane, put the boost up to 16.5, let my tires down to 20psi, still no traction. I am seriously over this FWD BULLSHIT!! My search for a GSX begins NOW!! (maybe I'll settle for a LSD...maybe) I know this is a 13sec capable car I just cant get my 60fts back down.

Well, its the 21 of April, and I have noticed that the timeslip dates are still off by one day for some reason. My GSX is coming very soon, we got the motor and the tranny in, just need to finish up the front suspension and drivetrain. YES!! Anyway, I headed out to Bithlow again hoping I could bust out a 13 sec pass before I gave up my baby. So close but yet so far. I had some wider tires for better grip, my 60's improved dramatically, but I started shifting to fourth, where before I had run out third. I wonder if skipping that shift would have gave me the 9 thousands I needed for a 13 sec pass...I think I am gonna still try again one more time before I let her go.

Well, here I am at the track again. This was my last trip with the old trusty T25. Its October 26, 2001. Same mods, tried something new. Removed the headlight for cooler airflow, but I think the drag was more of a hindrance than the cool air was a help. The air turbulence was LOUD. No race gas, disappointing results. And if that was not enough, I have never seen the track this crowded before. As soon as you picked up your ticket, your ass was right back in line. Made 2 runs for four hours of waiting. Please god, let there be a Melbourne speedway.
