[Somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me]

Duo rolling down a grassy hill, laughing and reaching out, fingers splayed, for something that we can't see...

[I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed]

Close up on his hand as it grabs the handle of his scythe, which begins to glow green like his gundam's. He rolls up to his feet with his weapon, as always, smiling. He turns quickly to face another who comes silently up behind him, his smile never faltering.

[He was looking kind of dumb]

Heero looking at Duo. His eyes betray no emotion as he slowly raises his hand parallel with his chest and...

[With his finger and his thumb in the shape of an "L" on his forehead]

He is holding his self-destruct button between his finger and his thumb. Duo grabs it out of his hand very, very quickly. Heero glares at Duo. Duo glares at Heero. They both look up, their glares shifting to the mobile dolls above them. Making eye contact, the two pilots rush to their respective gundams.

[Well, the years start coming and they don't stop coming]

Heero and Duo, attacking and being attacked by swarms of enemy mobile suits. Duo cheers after defeating the other mobile suits, while Heero silently watches him. Heero mourns the destruction of a building, filled with innocents, even if it wasn't his fault, he feels like he failed, like it was his fault. Duo places a hand on Heero's shoulder before pulling him into a comforting embrace, allowing him to fall into a dream-free slumber.

[Fed to the rules and I hit the ground running]

Duo and Heero jump from their gundams, landing in crouches before running toward the safe house, Duo trips Heero, laughing at the other boy, but when Heero doesn't yell or even move, the braided boy rushes back to see if he is hurt. Bending over the other, Duo is surprised when Heero's eyes snap open and a leg sweeps out to knock Duo off his feet. Duo looks like he is going to cry and Heero opens his mouth to apologize when Duo breaks into laughter, jumping up and offering Wing's pilot a hand up.

[Didn't make sense not to live for fun]

Duo and Quatre are laughing as they plays games with Wufei and Trowa. Duo trys to get Heero, who is at his laptop (as always), to join them. Heero refuses time and time again, trying to finish the mission reports. Duo starts to walk away saddened, when his eyes take on a strange gleam

[Your brain gets smart but your head gets dumb]

Duo pulls Heero into the game, forcefully, by his arm. Heero gives Duo 'the Heero Yuy Deathglare(TM)' but otherwise gives no objection to being pulled around by the cheeky American pilot.

[So much to do, so much to see]

Duo drags Heero around the town they are hiding out in. He forced Heero to take him shopping or deal with the consequences, a very bored, very mischievious Duo. Heero keeps his grip firm on Duo's braid so they don't get seperated in the hustle and bustle of the crowd.

[So whats wrong with taking the backstreets]

Duo and Heero hiding in an back alley from an angry shopkeeper who was now poorer because of Duo's definition of fun. Duo laughs as the fat man gives up. Heero cracks a small smile, but it is hidden in the shadows, vanishing as soon as they leave the alleyway.

[You'll never know if you don't go]

Duo's telling corny jokes. Heero glares at a laughing Duo before cracking a small smile, at which Duo's jaw hits the ground before he falls over anime style, twitching with surprise. Heero calmly steps over him as Duo frantically struggles to catch up.

[You'll never shine if you don't glow]

Wing Zero and Shinigami stand glowing in the night as enemy search lights reflect off them. Duo laughs at the pitiful attacks before taking out a handful of OZ mobile suits with one blow. Heero warns him to be careful before turning back to the fight. Both are secretly keeping an eye on the other's back, just in case.

[Hey now! You're an all star get your game on, go play]

Heero and Duo are playing basketball at their newest school versus the best of the basketball team. They win, of course, and they walk off the court with Duo's arm slung over Heero's shoulders. Heero doesn't brush him off. Duo and Heero celebrate their winning of the game by blowing up an Oz base.

[Hey now! You're a rock star get the show on, get paid]

Duo, in his boxers, singing loudly into his hairbrush as his newest CD blares over the speakers. He is unaware that Heero is watching him from the door. Heero smiles at Duo and makes a mental note to get the lyrics to the song. Duo continues to dance on unaware as Heero backs out of the room and closes the door, not wanting to be seen not doing his reports.

[And all that glitters is gold]

Heero and Duo are sitting, shoulder to shoulder, hip to hip, in between their gundams watching the sunrise after a mission. Zero and Shinigmai stand proud behind them, reflecting the sun's rays, giving off an unearthly glow, resembling that of two angels.

[Only shooting stars break the mold]

Flashback to when their gundams are falling during the beginning of Operation Meteor. Both boys falling are to fight a war that would tear any normal person to pieces, mentally, physically, and emotionally; they are falling to fight a war to save all life, even if it means giving up their own.

[It's a cool place and they say it gets colder]

Heero and Duo cuddling in front of a fire, after trudging two miles through waist high snow from their gundams. They share a blanket as it snows outside the frosty window. Heero pulls Duo closer as a draft of cold air makes the braided pilot shiver, sharing body heat. Duo smiles his thanks.

[You're bundled up now wait till you get older]

Duo dreaming of his future possibly with Heero and enjoying it. He imagines Heero in a tux at their wedding and Relena's reaction to the news. Then he hears the familiar shout of 'Heeeroooo!' and winces at the more realisic thought of losing him to 'her'. Hiding his anger under his mask, he goes to 'rescue' Heero from the pink leach.

[But the media men beg to differ judging by the hole in the satellite picture]

Duo laughs as he takes out a news copter. Heero notes that the channel goes blank on his screen after his partner's move and smiles at Duo, who continues to trash Oz supplies. Heero is surprised as Duo whips around and shoots at him, only to realize that he destroyed a mecha trying for a back attack.

[The ice we skate]

Heero and Duo are skating together on a frozen pond at one of Quatre's hidden vacation homes. Duo's braid trails him like a tail as he and Heero play tag and skate intriquite patterns on the ice.

[Is getting pretty thin]

The ice under Heero suddenly breaks and he falls in the freezing water. Duo rushes to save him, grabbing his arm and pulling, only to have the ice beneathe him give out and end up in the ice water with Heero. Finally climbing out, they run to the house shivering, and quickly slide into a warm shower together.

[The water's getting warm so you might as well swim]

Same pond in the spring: Duo urges Heero into the water from out several feet, teasing Heero because of his reluctance to get wet. Heero finally agrees to go in, only to be assulted by water guns from the others on the deck. They all laugh as Heero scoops up a squirt gun and joins the water fight, drenching everyone, whie getting soaked himself.

[My world's on fire how about yours]

Heero and Duo watch as an Oz base they just attacked blows up in a blazing fire ball. Duo comments it looks pretty, and his partner grunts agreement, admiring the way the fire reflects off Duo's eyes.

[That's the way I like it and I'll never get bored]

Duo laughs as they fly away in their gundams. Heero stares at him and cracks a small smile. Duo doesn't miss it and he laughs with Heero, the base is left blazing in the background, forgotten in favor of a game of gundam-tag.

The gundams are flying against the stars on the way to a moon base. Heero stares into Duo's eyes, which reflect the pinpricks of light, before reaching over and pulling him into an embrace, telling him not to get hurt and to watch his back, before releasing him and stalking away. Duo runs to catch up with him, and makes him promise the same things before ruffling his hair and running away to complete his half of the mission.

[Somebody once asked could I spare some change for gas]

Heero and Duo fill up their stolen car with gas after a mission, hoping to get to their safehouse soon and without getting recognized too much. Duo offhandedly comments that as long as they've stolen the car they should steal the gas as well. Heero tells him to get in the car, buckle up, and shut up, surprising Duo by slamming on the gas and speeding away from the station.

[I need to get myself away from this place]

They drive away without paying as the attandant yells after them, ordering them to come back and pay. Duo waves goodbye and Heero smacks him on the back of the head for his immaturity, but Duo retaliates and kisses Heero's cheek, earning a blush. Heero almost drives off the road as the braided boy climbs into his lap, snuggling contentedly.

[I said yep! What a concept! I could use a little fuel myself]

They stop for burgers at Duo's request, pulling into the drive-thru and getting the greasy food. Heero frowns his distaste but eats them anyway. As long as Duo was happy, then he could put up with burgers and fries. Duo laughs as Heero makes a face and offers Heero a bite of his sandwich, Heero accepts it, offering some of his to the other, which Duo accepts.

[And we could all use a little change]

Duo leans over and kisses Heero before finishing his burger. He tells Heero it's for seasoning. Heero looks surprised but then pulls Duo back to him by the collar and kisses him for the same reason before going back to his burgers with a softer expression.

[Well,the years start coming and they don't stop coming]

Duo and Heero walking hand in hand down the road, admiring the blooming cherry trees and watching the little children chase each other in the temporary peace they created. They pause to watch the wind make little waves in the pond.

[Fed to the rules and I hit the ground running]

Duo tags Heero and runs but he is caught and is tagged with a kiss. Duo freezes, hand on his mouth, before chasing after the other boy, demanding another kiss, which Heero gladly gives him.

[Didn't make sense not to live for fun]

Duo plays a video game by himself while Heero types up the mission reports and gets new mission information. He sighs softly, trying to keep out of Heero's hair and let him work for once.

[Your brain gets smart but your head gets dumb]

Heero hears Duo's sigh and walks over and picks up the second controller, restarting the game, making Duo smile and squiggle closer. Heero responds by resting his head on Duo's shoulder as they play the violent game.

[So much to do so much to see]

Duo and Heero, sitting hip to hip on a hill, watching the sun set. Duo yawns and falls asleep on Heero just as the moon comes out. Heero smiles and picks up the sleeping boy, bringing him home, placing him in the bed before crawling in with him.

[So what's wrong with taking the backstreets]

Heero and Duo creep home and slip into their bedroom, back from a night of clubbing, trying not to make any noise as they slip into their room without Quatre ever noticing they were gone, ignoring the blinking computer.

After changing, they climb into Heero's bed together. Heero picks up a book and begins to read as Duo rapidly flips the channels on the large tv until he gets a predatory gleam in his eyes, violet sliding slowly in the dark-haired boy's direction.

[You'll never shine if you don't glow]

Flinging Heero's book away, they pull up the covers and Duo's hand reaches over and flips the lights off...

[Hey now! You're an all star get your game on, go play]

Heero and Duo were playing basketball against the other pilots. They hug at the end of the game, walking off the court hand in hand, ignoring everyone else's possible reactions to the unusual sight.

[Hey now! You're a rock star get the show on, get paid]

Heero hacks into the OZ mainframe and pulls out enough money to have "fun." Duo bounces around making plans for the day. His enthusiasm catches and Heero adds his own thoughts, surprising Duo slightly. Heero takes advantage of the slightly open mouth for a gentle kiss.

[And all that glitters is gold]

Heero gives Duo a gold ring and gets glomped and showered in kisses in return. Duo starts crying, Heero freezes afraid he's made a mistake, but Duo laughs and tells him the tears are happy tears. Heero feels water in his own eyes as well, blinking them away as Duo locks lips with him, trying to physically convey his feelings.

[Only shooting stars break the mold]

Duo sits alone on a grassy hill, waiting, staring at a beautiful meteor shower. He looks to his left, but it still is empty, just as it was when he arrived. Sad, he glances back up to the sky.

[And all that glitters is gold]

The ring he was given glows softly in the pale light. He takes it from the chain around his neck and slides it on his finger, admiring it.

[Only shooting stars break the mold]

Heero silently walks up behind Duo and slides his arms around Duo's waist. Duo grins at Heero before turing back to the show, leaning back into the cobalt-eyed boy. They sit quietly watching the falling stars and waiting for the sun to rise.
