At This Moment

Eventhough the meeting with management went well, Alex still had doubts about their decision. He knew he could handle them, but he also knew it was another story with the fans.

I could see he was having problems dealing with this. I mainly thought it was the baby that was the problem, but he assured me it wasn't, that it was the fans' reactions that worried him.

"What if they find out?" He paced back and forth in front of me in the living room floor. "What if they figure out who you are and they hurt you?"

"Honey," I pleaded, "please sit down. You have nothing to worry about. No one will find out, except for the people it affects. The fans wouldn't hurt the person you love, would they?" I grab his hand, as he stops and looks at me.

"I don't know, I honestly don't. I didn't think they would, but they put Marisa through hell when we were together. I just don't want them to hurt you. Please say you will be careful," he looked sadly into my eyes.

"Baby," I held his face in my hands, "I will be careful. If you don't want me to go on the road with you, I won't. Just for the baby's safety."

He just sat back, taking me into his arms, when we both just looked at each other.

"What was that?" He asked, excitedly.

"That was the baby kicking," I say, smiling.

"Oh, my God! Was that it?" He then got into the floor in front of me, placing his hands upon my stomach. "Hi there, it's your daddy. I know you are in there." He said in a quiet voice.

I couldn't help but be in awe of what was happening. The two people whom I loved the most, were making all my dreams come true.

"Hey," Brian said, as he walked through the front door.

"Hey, Frick," Nick looked up to see his best friend for the first time in two weeks. "Come on in."

"Where's Sarah?"

"Aw, she went shopping. Wha'cha doin' today?" Nick asked, turning the volume down on the television.

"I was wondering if you wanted to play some hoops for a while until she got home." Brian watched as Nick looked at him, then casually back at the television. "But, if you are busy, we can do it later," he said, disappointed.

"Naw, let's go out back. I bet I can kick your butt. Sarah's been teaching me," he said, tossing him a ball from beside the couch.

"You're on," Brian said, with a Kentucky grin.

Rae was woke up by the alarm clock. As she rolled over to turn it off, she noticed Kevin laying beside her, smiling.

"Good morning, Angel," he said with a kiss.

"Oh, don't kiss me now. Wait until I get out of the bathroom," she said, covering her mouth.

"What's wrong with kissing you now?" He asked, trying to remove her hand from her face. "Come on, let me see that smile."

He continued to wrestle with her and tickle her until her mouth was free, and then he covered it with his own.

She got lost in his passion, as they brought in the early afternoon making love in the sun, as it shine through the patio doors overlooking the pool.

"Hey Bone," Howie said, entering the kitchen. "What's up?"

"Not much. How about you?" AJ asked, checking his answering machine.

"Hey, this is Stephanie. That's Bone," Howie introduced his best friend.

"Hey Stephanie," he reached out his hand, taking her's in a handshake.

"Nice to finally meet you. Howie has done nothing but talk about you all week." She smiled.

"Well, whatever it was, it was all lies," he smiled, winking at Howie. "So, D, where you been hiding this angel?"

"Ah, you know me, Bone," Howie grinned. "Where's the little mother-to-be?"

"She's upstairs, she'll be down in a minute."

"So, you're gonna be a daddy?" Stephanie asked.

"Yea, does that scare you? It does me!" He says, as I come in the room.

"Hi Howie, hi Steph," I say. "He treatin' ya all right?" I stand behind Alex, wrapping my arms around his waist.

"Yea, he's all right. It just scares me he's gonna be a daddy," Howie winks at AJ.

"How do you think I feel? I am the one having this baby with him!" I kiss him on the back.

"And I can't wait. Just two more months to go and he will be a daddy, then he can go on the road."

"Here", Alex pours me a glass of milk, and gives me my vitamins, "Don't forget these. Oh, hey D, you missed it last night, man. I felt the baby kick!" He smiles.

"That's great man. Could you tell if it was a sissy kick or a manly kick?" He laughs.

"I don't know, but it scared the sh•t out of me. Then I could hear it moving. Man you should have been here."

"Nah, I think I will wait until I have kids of my own instead of stealing all those precious moments away from someone else."

"Hey Anna," Brian says, as she opens the door. "Good afternoon."

"Hey Bri, Hey Nicky," she smiled. "Come on in."

"So, what's on the agenda today?" Brian asks, as they sit on the couch.

"I don't know. I was thinking about going to the beach to work on my tan. What about you guys?"

"Well, we shot some hoops and now we are bored. Can we tag along?" Nick asks.

"That would be fine," she says, "But I am leaving in like ten minutes. I tried to call you, Brian, but, you weren't home." She smiled.

"Sorry." he simply said.

Later at the beach, Anna couldn't help but notice the way Nick would stare at her, so she and Brian went for a walk down the coastline.

"Are you enjoying yourself here?" He asked.

"It's better than I imagined. I thought I wouldn't like it, but I love it." She smiled.

They stop to watch two small kids playing in the sand, as he leaned over and kissed her.

After the kiss, they just stood and looked at each other, then kissed again.

"Sorry," Brian said, shyly.

"Why are you sorry? I have been wanting you to do that for a long time," she said, looking out over the waters.

"Why didn't you say something?"

"I was just wanting you to do it, without me seeming pushy," she giggled under her breath.

"Anna," he said, turning her towards him, and holding her hands in his. "I have liked you since the first moment I saw you at the airport. I don't know what it is, but I think you are my soulmate. I just feel so complete when we are together. I hope you feel the same way," he looked at her.

"I do," she said, quietly, "But, I just came out of a bad relationship, so can we please just take our time?"

"We can take as much time as you need, I will always be here for you." He held her tight against his chest, kissing her forehead.

She broke away from him, wrapping her arms around his neck, and kissed him. She didn't want to stop, until the kids started making noises at them. They just laughed, and started kicking sand at the kids, helping them build a sand castle.

This is the way Anna wanted her family to be. She knew they weren't her children, and that Brian wasn't her husband or the father of these kids, but she wanted him to be the father of her children, but mostly she wanted to be the one loving him, and him loving her.

She got scared when she noticed she was developing deeper feelings for him than she already had, so she got up and ran back to where Nick was, and sat down.
