Our Past

Our journey together began in 1982 when Jan left Bill standing in the rain at a Stuttgart German-American Wandering Club volksmarch. We first met when Jan was helping park autos during a rainstorm. Bill felt sorry for her and offered to take over so that she could dry off and get something to eat. Jan never returned! We lived in Stuttgart, Germany from 1982 until 1990. At the time we both had positions with the Amerian Red Cross European Area HQ located at McGee Barracks. We were married in August of 1990 in the lovely fishing village of Esbjerg, Denmark. We then became involved in the downsizing of the U.S. military presence and saw that it was in our best interest to return to the United States. We purchased a motorhome and began our RV adventure around the U.S. We have traveled in more than half of the states, and plan to travel in them all eventually. We now travel in a 19ft Roadtrek Motorhome.
We made another lifestyle change in the year 2000. We are currently on an “Around the World” bicycling trip, which began here in the United States. We are riding two Greenspeed Trikes on this trip. We began our trip in Point Mugu, CA. We began by taking advantage of the Adventure Cycling Association's Pacific Coast Route, which is a very popular route that has breathtaking cliffs, redwood forests, lighthouses, beaches, and a rugged coastline to enjoy. We rode from Point Mugu, CA to Newport, OR in the summer of 2000. In the future we hope to travel to Europe and tour on our Trikes.
