BsB+Male Fan=Trouble
What is it like to be a male Backstreet Boys fan? Well with all the ridacule and harassment that they go through, it's certainly no picnic. But I think you will find that male fans are die hard fans. Willing to risk their reputation for the band they love. Below is the story of one fan who has to deal with these pressures everyday.
I am a guy and I have a problem, I like the Backstreet Boys. For some reason guys aren't supposed to like the Backstreet Boys, but I do. Everyday I must live with this secret. When people come over to my house, I have to take down all my posters of Nick and Kevin and the other guys, the calendar goes down, the phone I got, I put away my millennium CD and replace it with some Kid Rock and Limp Bizkit, and of course my life size Brian cut out goes in the closet.
The football players I hang around come over and say, "Damn bitch you need to get some shit in your room. I got this naked picture of Gloria Estephan you might want to put on the back of your door." Yeah I might ever want that, anything related to Nsync makes me want to gouge my eyes out. So when the company leaves I spend a few hours putting the guys back up.
It becomes so routine I could do it with my eyes closed. I would constantly get beat up at school if anyone ever found out my secret. All the girls ever talk about is the Backstreet Boys, but I have to keep my thoughts to myself. I just wish once I could share the times of the concert on last October, and what it was like to see them up close. I wish I could tell them about the bottle of water I stole from nick (Its sitting on my TV at home).
But afraid for my life, I have to stay quiet and do my work. There has to be another guy out there who like the Backstreet Boys, but is afraid to come out of the closet, there just has to be!
