Tune-up Tips
Some may feel that tune-up tips are not necessary, but I have found that there are several different ways to complete the basic tune-up procedure.  These are the steps that I use to tune-up my engine.

   Cylinder and Distibutor Layout

1) You should begin when the engine is completely cold by Setting the Valves.

2) Once the valves are set check and set the gap on the Points.

3) Then you should set the Timing.

4) Finally ensure idle is set to the proper RPM.  Idle speed is up to the individual (for manual transaxles) and can be set anywhere between 800 - 1100 RPMs.  If you own an autostick please refer to the service manual.
