Down With Bess
Bess is a web blocker that can be found at www.Bess.net. I have several problems with it. It came with the internet provider I have, so I have no choice, but I strongly suggest boycotting it. When I tried to delete it, I found it on my computer again the next day. It reinstalled itself! It doesn't even work right. There is stuff that it should block that it doesn't, and it blocks a lot of sites that are in no way inappropriate. Angelfire is a good example. I have a lot of trouble getting into Angelfire and therefore have trouble editing my site. Even if it doesn't block Angelfire, it would probably block this specific page just because they don't want you to see their problems. I'm convinced they will use their blocking power to silence opposition to them. Yahoo! Chat is another good example. Nothing inappropriate about that, right? All I ever do there is go into their music chats, just because of my interest in music. Totally harmless. In any case, DO NOT USE BESS!!!
Update!!!
I no longer have to deal with Bess! I'm still against them, but it isn't a problem for me anymore! Woo hoo!
