"Sinbad!" Maeve cried happily. "How did you get here?"
"No time to explain."
Tallan in desperation reached toward the child, fully intent on ending the infant's life if it was the last thing he ever did. Sinbad caught him red-handed, though, and in a flash of brilliantly bright blue light the baby disappeared from the gloomy caverns and was taken back to the Nomad where several very anxious 'uncles' awaited him.
Maeve could only gasp at what she saw and continue to witness the events in awed silence.
Tallan stood in anger to face Sinbad. "You've just ruined what's left of my life!"
"Thanks, I try," Sinbad answered sarcastically. "And now it's time to put you out of your misery." Sinbad drew his sword and advance on Tallan.
"Stupid man, your little weapon is no match for my powers!" Tallan sent a bolt of black magic hurtling toward Sinbad and was shocked when he saw the sailor mentally put up a forcefield around himself that deflected the blast back toward its origin. Sinbad took advantage of Tallan's confusion by firing off his own ball of white energy and efectively finishing off his opponent. Tallan disappeared in a flash of light and blaze of fire with a look of pure mortification carved into his face.
Maeve looked at her love in wide-eyed wonderment. "Sinbad, are you sure that's really you?" she asked awkwardly.
Sinbad stepped over to Maeve and caught her as he released her from her chains. Then he took her tenderly in his arms and kissed her gently with all the love he held in his heart - and beyond. "What do you think?"
Maeve smiled and responded, "Oh, yeah, you're definitely my Sinbad." Finally Maeve allowed herself to relax, for this was the first time in a long time that she really felt safe. Sinbad held her close, seemingly sheltering her from any and all harm, and willed them back to the Nomad and the family awaiting them. Finally they would be back where they belonged.
