Chapter Nine

AJ and I sat uncomfortably on the couch, watching a movie. Things are really tense right now.

Howie walked into the room and looked at the both of us shocked. We werent cuddling or whispering to each other like we used to. We were just blankly staring at the television screen. I dont even know what movie we are watching to be perfectly honest.

"Hey Howie," I said brightly. He smiled and sat down next to me.

"What are you guys watching?" he asked.

"Huh?" AJ asked finally taking his eyes off the television.

"I said, what are you guys watching?" he asked again.

"Uh, some movie," AJ answered.

"Interesting," Howie said.

"I cant wait to be back in Florida," I sighed.

"Why?" Howie asked.

"I dont know. Im kinda home sick," I said pouting.

"I think I am going to bed. Good-night," AJ said getting up. He walked out of the room, no kiss good-night, nothing. Ass.

"So, what's going on?" Howie asked.

"Good question. We're in a 'trial' relationship," I rolled my eyes.

"Oh, do you think it's gonna work?" he asked.

"Well, since AJ isnt putting any effort into it, probably not," I said, looking into my lap.

"Im sorry," Howie said softly.

"Oh, it's not your fault, dont worry about it," I said shrugging.

"If it makes you feel any better, Heather and I are having problems, again," he told me.

"What now?" I asked.

"She's complaining Im on the road too much," he answered.

"Well, what does she expect. You're a performer," I said a little confused.

"Tell that to her," he rolled his eyes.

"Well, Howie, I think we're just having bad luck in significant others lately," I said.

"That sucks," he sighed.

"I agree," I nodded.

Howie and I stayed up late talking, basically about our bad relationships. By about two thirty in the morning, I was barely keeping my eyes open.

"I think I am going to go to sleep, Im exhausted," I said standing up and stretching.

"Me too," he agreed getting up after me. We were standing incredibly close, our faces just inches apart.

"AJ doesnt deserve you Micki," Howie whispered.

"I was just thinking the same thing about Heather," I said smiling.

"Can I kiss you?" he asked.
