Micki layed in bed thinking of AJ. He had fallen asleep an hour before and she was still unable to sleep. What if Matt found out?
Just as Micki was dozing off to sleep the telephone rang. Micki sighed and looked at the clock. It was 4:30 a.m and she still had gotten no sleep at all. She answered the phone.
"Micki, it's Matt," Matt said, his voice low and deep.
"Matt," Micki sighed.
"I figured you would be up already, you know getting ready for work," Matt explained to her.
"I dont have to be up for thirty minutes, but yeah, I am up," Micki told him, her heart beating rapidly.
"Why?" Matt asked.
"Couldn't sleep," Micki told him.
"Oh, well I just wanted to tell you that I will be coming home tonight, I thought things over and I need to talk to you in person and at home," Matt explained.
"Ok,"Micki said scared of what he was going to tell her.
"Bye, Micki,"Matt said.
"Bye Matt," Micki repeated. Click.
Micki decided to get up and get ready for work. She worked as a staff member of a teen magazine. She loved her job so much.
She dressed in a knee length black silk skirt and a blood red silk top. She curled her hair and pulled it into a clip, the curls standing out at the top of her head.
She carefully applied her makeup and grabbed her things for work. When she went out to the living room, it was 6:00 a.m. AJ was watching cartoons on the couch.
"I'm leaving for work," Micki announced to him.
"Ok, I guess I'll be leaving now," AJ said getting up. Micki and him walked to the front door and walked out.
"Thanks for letting me stay the night," AJ told her.
"Thanks for listening to me and hanging out with me last night," Micki told him smiling.
AJ loved her smile, he could melt into it. It took everything in Micki's power not to kiss him good-bye. The two got into their cars and drove off, not even looking back.
Later...
"LaDawn!" Micki screamed as her other best friend was getting off the plane. LaDawn ran up to Micki and embraced her in the biggest hug.
"Hey girl!" LaDawn beamed. Micki was so happy to see her.
Micki and LaDawn chatted about nothing while LaDawn got all her luggage.
"So, what's up?" LaDawn asked as Micki and her drove away from the airport.
"LaDawn, Matt is having doubts about the marriage," Micki blurted out, tears forming in her eyes.
LaDawn listened to everything Micki said and didn't think anything bad, even after Micki told her about the sweet kiss from AJ.
"Well, girl, you have to think, what do you really want?" LaDawn asked as Micki pulled into the parking lot of her work. LaDawn was just going to hang out there until Micki finished up. Which wouldn't be long.
"I've been with Matt for so long and in a way I want him, but I don't want to marry him if he is having doubts," Micki told her as they walked into the building.
"Wait a second, did you say in a way?" she asked.
"I felt something when AJ kissed me, LaDawn, I don't know what to think of it. He gave me a feeling that I've never felt with Matt," Micki told her.
"You need to figure out who it is you want in the next three weeks," LaDawn informed her.
"I know," Micki mumbled.
"Wait, how long have you known AJ?" LaDawn asked confued.
"A few days," Micki said fast and low.
"Micki!"LaDawn yelled, stopping Micki.
"I know, but who knows, he could be one true love. Maybe I am about to marry the wrong person," Micki concluded.
"Micki, maybe Matt isn't the one that needs to think about this whole getting married thing, maybe it's you with the doubts," LaDawn said. She hated to admit it, but she was right.
LaDawn was beautiful, she had long blonde hair, blue eyes, she was short and cute. She knew exactly what she wanted in life and was determined to get everything she has ever dreamed of. She was strong and independant.
Meanwhile...
"I dont know man, I felt something when I kissed her, but she's getting married in three weeks," AJ told his friend and co- worker, Brian.
Have I mentioned the AJ was in the Backstreet Boys? Yes, well him, Nick, Brian, Kevin, and Howie. They were really famous and he was wondering why Micki didn't recognize him. He's lucky she didn't .
"Was that fair to kiss her?" Brian asked.
"No, but it was so damn tempting," AJ said.
"Man, you need to either tell her how you feel or you need to forget about her," Brian said, trying to sound as sympathetic as possible.
Brian was glad there wasn't a girl in his life right now, because he always gives them a little too much attention.
"I'll call her tonight," AJ concluded.
Brian nodded and the two began to watch t.v. AJ couldn't consentrate on it though, all his thoughts were on Micki. He wished she had felt what he felt when he kissed her. He began to imagine her soft lips and beautiful body and how much he wanted to explore her and know her in more ways than one.
