Chapter Five

The cafe was a great idea, I think. We sat there and talked for about four hours, and not once did I think of Shawn. It was a good thing, for sure. It went so well, he invited me to a party tomorrow, and I could bring friends. I thought I'd bring Melissa, and my two other best friends Alexis and Leah.

It was formal, so, the four of us went shopping, at the mall, our fave place. We all bought brand new dresses. Melissa's dress was a long, black, spaghetti strap, silk dress, Alexis's was a lavender long sleeved, long dress, made out of some weird silk/stretch/cloth material, Leah's was a baby blue, spaghetti strap, dress that was kinda short. And mine was a black, short, tube dress. We all looked really good.

We all jumped in Melissa's Honda Civic and drove to the address Brian had given us. When we got to the house, our jaws dropped. It was huge! It was bigger than what you would think of as a mansion. A man came and we were informed he was parking our car for us. (I love valet, don't you?) So, we went inside and searched for Brian. We found him quickly and he came over and gave me a hug and a quick kiss on the cheek.

"So, who are your friends?" he asked.

"Oh, this is Leah, Melissa, and Alexis." I introduced, "They're my best friends."

Brian nodded, a group of guys had came up behind them, "And these are my best friends," Brian said, motioning towards them, "Howie, AJ, Nick, and Kevin."

We all exchanged hellos and I noticed something. All of Brian's friends were checking out mine. Nick was checking out Alexis, Kevin was Leah, AJ were checking out Melissa, and I was informed Howie already had a girlfriend. But, AJ just cut to the chase and asked Melissa to dance, and they rushed out onto the dance floor.

Pretty soon, Nick and Alexis and Kevin and Leah were dancing also.

"That's pretty weird." Brian commented, laughing.

"Yeah, they all seem to hit it off." I replied.

"Well, do you want to dance m'lady?" Brian asked.

I giggled, "Sure."

He led me to the dance floor and we swayed to a Jessica Simpson song.

"So, what's this party for?" I asked.

"It's a record company thing." Brian answered, his voice warm on my neck. I giggled.

I inhaled his sweet scent and fell into his world. Just swaying in step with him. Letting him guide me. I rested my head on his shoulder, and closed my eyes. My eyes flickered open and I realized I was getting way ahead of myself. I was getting myself in to deep. I hardly knew him. I lifted my head and looked into his beautiful, soft, caring, lovable eyes, and smiled. He smiled back and his eyes lit up. I got weak in my knees and tried really hard not to melt in his arms. I was sort of glad that the song was over with, I didn't need to collapse on him, but I liked the feeling of his arms around me. Then I felt safe and secure. We sat down at a tiny table in the corner and talked.

"Where's Melissa and AJ? I seen Kevin and Leah in a corner by themselves, and Alexis and Nick were still dancing. But I can't find the other two." I said.

"I saw them go upstairs a few minutes ago. I can almost guess what's happening." Brian laughed.

"Oh man. I hope Melissa realizes what she's doing." I sighed.

"Don't worry. AJ isn't the first date kinda guy. Give him to the second." Brian explained.

I began to laugh and stopped because I saw Brian just staring at me, smiling. "You are so beautiful."

I was stunned by the sudden comment, and I knew I blushing. I smiled at him and studied my hand. "Did I embarrass you."

I shook my head. Brian scooted in closer to the table and leaned over it, and caught me off guard. He kissed me and let me tell you, he did a very good job. I was so convinced, that I...
