Micki dressed into jeans and a Gap shirt. She was planning a day at the mall, away from Matt, even after his nice attempt to an apology, Micki was still mad at him. She pulled her hair back into a ponytail and grabbed her purse and her keys. She slipped her sunglasses onto her head and walked out into the living room, where Matt was watching some television show.
"I'm going shopping with Adrienne and Alexis today. Let me know if LaDawn calls, she's supposed to call today," I informed Matt.
"You're leaving?" he asked.
"Yeah, I need to get out," Micki told him.
"Ok," he reluctantly agreed.
Micki walked out of the house and drove the short distance to the mall. She was supposed to meet Adrienne and Alexis for lunch. Adrienne and Alexis are two of three of her bridesmaids. LaDawn being the other, of course. She walked to the food court , where she saw her two friends already chatting together at a table.
"Hey you two!" Micki greeted, cheerfully.
"Hey! I like your nails," Adrienne said, admiring my nails.
"Thanks, Megan and I got them done together," Micki told her.
"Well, where do you guys want to eat?" Alexis asked, looking around.
"Let's eat in the restaurant," Adrienne replied pointing to a restaurant next to all the food booths.
"Sounds good," Micki agreed.
A.J., Kevin, and Howie...
"Let's get something to eat first," Howie suggested.
"Man, I just ate," A.J. disagreed.
"Then order something light! Kevin and I are hungry!" Howie argued.
"Fine," A.J. said.
"Where should we eat?" Kevin asked.
"How about there?" Howie asked, pointing to a restaurant next to all the food booths.
"Sounds good," A.J. agreed.
The three guys walked over to the restaurant and waited to be seated.
"Three?" the waitress asked.
"Yes," Kevin answered, politely.
"Smoking or non?"she asked, with a fake grin on her face.
"Non," Kevin answered, once again.
"Right this way gentlemen," she ordered.
The three followed the waitress to a table by a window and waited for them all to be seated when she handed them their menus. She rehearsed her waitress speech and walked off. Kevin looked hard at the menu and Howie studied just as hard. But A.J. looked around. He wasn't looking for anything particular, just looking, when he suddenly saw three girls sitting at a booth near him, talking and giggling at one another. He recognized one of the girls. It was Micki!
"Micki!" A.J. shouted.
Everyone in the restaurant turned and looked at A.J.,who was making all the noise. Micki looked up along with the rest of the group she was with.
"A.J.!" she replied, just as happy to see him.
A.J. got up and walked over to her table. "Hi," he said.
"Hi! Didn't think I'd run into you that fast," Micki joked.
"Yeah, I know," he said, taking in her smile.
