I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change!
Chapter Four

Recap: “I think we shouldn’t see each other anymore Mir. It’s just not working out,” AJ said getting ready to leave, but Miranda stopped him.
 “What! A.J., I need you…”
“For what? To better your career? You don’t think I already know that? You don’t really like me Miranda, admit it.
   “A.J…”
“Please Mir, just go. I’ve been hurt enough for one day,” A.J. said referring more to Mac than her. So Mir got her stuff, said by to everyone (except for Mac), and left.  A.J. just sat at the table with his head in his hands as he her Mac’s words again; “Like hell you do.”

Mac went up to her room and laid on her bed thinking of what she had said to A.J. She never meant to hurt him, she loved him. “Why haven’t I told A.J. about Nick and I,” Mac thought to herself. She couldn’t find an answer, or she didn’t want to admit it. “Admit to what? Uhh, this is giving me a headache,” she thought as she buried her head in her pillow. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. “Go away!” Mac shouted.
“Hey Mac, are you alright?” a sympathetic voice said from the other side of the door.
“Please go away. I don’t wanna see anyone right now,” Mac said rolling over on the bed looking at the ceiling.
“Come on Mac, please let me in.”
Mac sighed and said, “The doors open.” The door opened and in walked Harmonee.
“Hey hun, what’s wrong?” said Harmonee sitting on the edge of the bed. Mac was about to reply when Harmonee stopped her. “That was a dumb question. I heard you and A.J. yelling at each other. What was that all about?”
“It was about why I hated Nick so much. He wanted to know why he didn’t know but he knows everything else about me. I can’t tell him Nee, I just can’t,” Mac said passionately.
“God, what happened between you two?” Harmonee asked looking at Mac.
“You don’t wanna know,” Mac said as she sat up face-to-face with Nee.
“You can trust me, I won’t tell anyone. I promise.” Mac knew she could trust Harmonee that’s why they were such good friends. Mac told Harmonee the events of the past two years. “Oh my God, I had no idea. I’m so sorry Mac,” Nee said handing her crying friend a tissue.
“Thanks for listening. It really means a lot to me,” Mac said giving her friend a hug. Just as they were pulling away there was another knock at the door.
“Mac, can I please talk to you.” Mac recognized the voice as belonging to A.J.
“Not right now A.J. please. Just give me a while o.k?
“No Mac. I need to talk to you now.” A.J. said as he walked through the door. Harmonee got up and gave Mac a sympathetic look. She walked past A.J., and went back down stairs to finish the movie.
“What’s up with us Mac. We never fight.”
“Well ya know J things change,” Mac said bitterly “Why did I say that?” Mac thought slowly regretting what had previously come out of her mouth.
“What’s up with you? Everything you’ve said to me in the past 24 hours has been vague or mean. What’s going on with you.”
“People change A.J. They grow up.”
“See there you go again. Tell me what’s wrong with you!”
“Shouldn’t you be downstairs with your girlfriend,” Mac said turning away from A.J.
“She went home, and we broke up,” A.J. said glumly.
“I’m sorry. Actually I’m not. She started all of this between us. With her overtly catty comments, and suggestions. I’m actually glad to see her go. She wasn’t good for you J. You deserve better.”
“Now this is the Mac I know. Thank you.”
“Yeah sure J. What do you want anyway?”
“Let me help you. Talk to me please!”
“NO J! Just please leave me alone!” With that said Mac walked out of the room once again leaving a very distraught A.J.
