Wedding Diorama

This GTO diorama was the topper on my wedding cake. The figures are standard wedding pieces, and the car is a Franklin Mint piece, but the rest was all scratch built. The diorama is a exact replica of the front portion of the church we were married at- St Christopher's Catholic Church in Hobe Sound. The actual scene never happened. I didn't have a GTO convertible at the time, and we didn't leave the church in a GTO.(Limo in the rain) but it would have been nice. I don't think the wife could have fit in the back seat of a GTO with her dress however.

The diorama was built by Katie of Katies Enchanted Tea Cottages of Ft. Lauderdale. It was done using pictures only. Katie specializes in replicas of rooms. This was her first attempt at outdoor scenery, and I am sure you will agree that it turned out quite nice. It also has a battery pack and hidden lights that light up the church windows, car headlights, tail lights and interior light.

The photo on the easel on the sidewalk is a minaturized engagement photo. She was not able to find a St Christopher statue, so she carved one from scratch. The cake topper now is displayed with my other GTO diecast and memorabilia, but is clearly the flagship of my collection
