                                                    1969 GTO HARDTOP

I thought  that I had all the GTO's that I wanted, but I stumbled onto this 69 hardtop, and it was just too nice a car to turn down. It is kind of odd, as it is a column shift with bench seat. Originally it was a maroon color with a black vinyl top. Normally a vinyl top would scare me away, but since the car hadn't spent it's life in Florida, I won't worry about it.

The hood tach was not on the build sheet, but has a date code of late 1968. It works, but I doubt it's accurate. I think it was installed at the dealership The rally II wheels are also on the build sheet.

The engine compartment wasn't too bad at all. The red hoses are going to be the first things that go, followed by the generic radiator cap.  Everything is in its' place, and all the a/c components are in their place, and the system is hooked up.

A close inspection reveals the hood insulation is installed upside down. I tossed it and hope to install a correct molded one.

You can't see it very well in the picture, but the car has brand new redline tires. I never liked redlines, but these seem pretty decent on the dry road.

The interior is all factory correct. A previous owner put some effort into getting a bench seat skin made up, as I don't think they are available.  The factory steering wheel is in place, and the horn even works. Although the car came with an AM radio, a previous owner replaced it with a later model AM/FM stereo.  Floor mats are per the build sheet.   Power disc brakes makes stopping a breeze.
